The road to redemption.

Blade & Bones, an combat-driven action/RPG about a warrior fighting to reclaim the voice of his people from a vengeful god, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 5% launch discount.

Legends speak of Niro, the god that created the Orins and then cast them down in anger. As punishment for their defiance, he took away their voice, forcing them to communicate with others through four signs that express different emotions. Now the Orins will challenge their god once again, but for that they must gather the seven swords of legend.
Their combat skills will be put to the test again and again: timing and patience are key when alternating between light and heavy attacks or switching between the six different styles. The warriors can also perform dynamic body transformations called Kuros, or call upon the power of the relics they find in their travels. Depending on the time of day or the Kuros they can transform into, the Orins will be able to open up new areas or hidden passages across the open world, claiming secret weapons and items that will aid them in their quest.

Perfect your combat skills, claim the seven lost swords, and learn the secrets of Blade & Bones, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 5% launch discount will last until December 14, 9:59 PM UTC.

BadDecissions: (..) this game has a life system, and when you run out, your save file is erased.
I'd guess one could locate & backup the current savegame and when the inevitable happens, they would just use the backup save to continue their game, right? Look into it (maybe ask Steam forum if you have an account there) because if you liked the game, it would be a pity to let it pass because of this feature alone.

musteriuz: I enjoyed that whole post, but the above point stood out as very well made.
Thank you; glad you read through all of it! :)

Niggles: Id ignore him as he doesnt seem to buy anything
Well, i can do that, but not based on his buying history (i'm not in position to judge anyone's buying history anyway). ;)

We can try to work something out. No promisses, but if many people feel bad about the permadeath mechanic we can make a mode whithout. Just remember... You have 7 puritys that if you lose you save data is erased but you can recover them in game in a similar way you recover souls on Dark Souls, but they move a little. Thank you!

CoffeeAddictStudio:
Nice to have another brazilian developer supporting DRM-free games. Wishlisted for now.

Sounds like a good system to me, punishing yes, but not too much if you are able to find these purity "health packs". By the way, I haven't played Dark Souls (well, it isn't on GOG yet) and frankly, I don't know about it's mechanics.

As for whether you'll be required to make some mod, I guess you'll have to keep an eye on the community posts/complaints etc. Recently i saw that the devs of Lords of Xulima made a mod that disabled all random encounters in their game, probably because that feature was not very popular. They even host some other mods that should make the LoX experience easier for certain people.

Having said all that, welcome to the forum. You can ask GOG for your developer status and this cozy orange font color. ;)

We will see. Because people react bad when you talk about the permadeath aspect but once they play the game it feels really balanced to have that to keep the player objective focused.

I've added you to the Developers group. Your posts should now stand out a bit better ;)
Looks like this could be good - kind of reminds me of Furi a bit. I can't tell whether it controls well though, which makes a big difference. Permadeath only gets frustrating when the process of starting from scratch isn't fun.

BadDecissions: Based on Steam reviews (currently "mixed," for whatever that's worth), this game has a life system, and when you run out, your save file is erased. I know some people enjoy permadeath, but for me that's an absolute deal-breaker. Too bad, I really like the art in the screenshots.
Agreed, perma-death and unbindable keys are usually an insta-deal breaker for me as well, why devs don't just give gamers a choice on perma-death (Besides the choice of not purchasing it) is beyond me...I'll buy it, though if there's a save mod that bypasses the perma-death for it, which I highly doubt...

Is more about the core experience of the game was made to be played with perma death. It's not that hard to avoid losing all your progress, you just need to recover every purity that you lose. You can die as many times as you wish if you keep at least one purity.

That does not sound too bad, though I detest wasted effort in gaming as it's not a question of difficulty as much as the monotony of doing the same thing over and over like starting from the beginning and repeating an entire level and/or losing progress, hell even Ecco the dolphin on genesis had password saves and that game was a bastard to beat!

If it's structured like the souls series then I would not mind as much, thanks a lot for the clarification!

EDITED: Just saw videos on this and no options for key-binding is an instant deal-breaker for me...Plus the perma-death turns out to be a liability to this game more than an asset, unlike with DS I'll wish-list it for now.

Yep, if you have the knowladge already you can beat the game pretty fast. Think the witness for instace, you can go right to the end of the game but only if you know stuff about the overall game.
