No Gods or Kings or DRM.

Update: Classic versions of Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are now available. If you already own Bioshock Remastered or Bioshock 2 Remastered, you can download classic versions directly from your GOG library.

BioShock™ and BioShock 2™ Remastered are finally available DRM-free.

The legendary shooters emerge from somewhere beyond the sea, dripping with that deliciously claustrophobic atmosphere of decay, corruption, and human ambition gone wrong.
Widely considered as the gold standard for story-driven shooters with light RPG elements, they have been remastered to feature higher resolution textures and models, director's commentary, and several other additions that ensure time will never wash them away.
Pump yourself full of plasmids, pump your enemies full of bullets, and dive right back into Rapture's beautifully rotten halls.
The original Bioshock 2 has achievements on Steam, any chance that the GOG version of the original Bioshock 2 will also have GOG achievements?

I remember playing a Bioshock game for a short bit, not sure which one. You run around blasting things, if you died you respawned a short distance away but with the damage remaining on the boss or whatever. Nothing really challenging or interesting that I saw. I tried looking for story bits but I didn't see much of that either. They made it simply too easy with endless free respawn.

CelineSSauve: I already got Bioshock at a thrift shop for $2.

Neverthless, if you ever get a bundle going that includes Infinite, then I'd likely be interested.

ungerjon001: the fact they are remastered alone might be of interested to you.
True, but judging how they deal with new releases and giving better deals to those who have none of the titles than those who only need the new item (see Witcher 3), I'll wait until this collection is completed. If it ever is on here.

BleepBl00p: Feel free to disprove my facts if you think they are made up.

The Bioshock series has not brought anything new to the genre nor did it set any standards.

@DadJoke Didnt say that people cant enjoy it but just dont spread gross misinformation like that. Especially since GOG is already advertising older entries as the 'gold standard' or 'benchmark' for the genre.
Is a “spiritual successor” supposed to bring a whole bunch new to it’s genre? Obviously there will be changes but they would be iterative mostly. This had all the trappings of system shock 2 but streamlined for modern audiences and a wider market. So I would agree that it isn’t boundary pushing, but I don’t think it’s meant to be either.

When they say “gold standard” that is usual meant to be relative to contemporary competition. Obviously old gold standards can be supplanted. Most people view BioShock to be special in terms of plot and story, which compared to most of its contemporaries it was. You weren’t a space marine shooting aliens or a soldier shooting nondescript bad guys.
Im not criticizing the game for not pushing boundaries or setting standards, I'm criticizing GOG's marketing approach that tries to pretend that it did.

As far as I'm aware, standards, gold or not, last until the competition raises the bar. Its like world records, they don't simply expire after some time.

I agree
I just bought both of them before the sale ends. Are there any plans to add overlay support for BioShock 2?
Just to push it and remind GOG

Any ETA when the classics will arrive? I haven't even downloaded the games because of the stioll missing classics which were part of the deal we made.

Yeah we shouldn't let this die. I hope we do actually get them.

There is no excuse to not bring Bioshock 1 original here immediately since I know they already have it DRM free on the Humble Bundle Store.

I'm mostly concerned it ends up being an empty promise like Nuclear Throne's missing Galaxy features or Empires Dawn of the Modern World multiplayer.

Even the retail version had DRM removed with the latest patch so yes, the build itself should not be any problem. It's up to GOG, 2K and negotiations.

If this should in fact be the case (which I hope won't) I'll refund the game for sure.

You can turn off the Vita Chamber from the game settings and, If You die without quick saving the game, You must start the level again..
low rated
Who cares. These games suck nuts.
System Shock 2 is still the better game for me. Bioshock is just too console-ish and action-packed for my taste.
