No Gods or Kings or DRM.

Update: Classic versions of Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are now available. If you already own Bioshock Remastered or Bioshock 2 Remastered, you can download classic versions directly from your GOG library.

BioShock™ and BioShock 2™ Remastered are finally available DRM-free.

The legendary shooters emerge from somewhere beyond the sea, dripping with that deliciously claustrophobic atmosphere of decay, corruption, and human ambition gone wrong.
Widely considered as the gold standard for story-driven shooters with light RPG elements, they have been remastered to feature higher resolution textures and models, director's commentary, and several other additions that ensure time will never wash them away.
Pump yourself full of plasmids, pump your enemies full of bullets, and dive right back into Rapture's beautifully rotten halls.

MBiL_248: I hope we will see the fantastic Bioshock Infiite here soon as well. Or Skyrim. Or Batman. Or Amalur. Or some missing German language packs. Or ...
... Or Axiom Verge! So the forum meme will end :p
thanks for bringing both of them to GOG, this Platform.
i just hope the original/classic version of both games dont take to long to get here.

oh and Bioshock Infiite is as boring as Skirim.
Morrowind was and still is the best Elder Scrolls game, and even the bug riddled Oblivion was and is better then Skirim (just my 2 cents)

Your "rant" syntax is invalid. You start with a [rant-on] but end with a [/rant-off] which implies there should be a starting [rant-off]. If you want your rant to be heard you will have to omit the "-on" and "-off" parts, and simply express your rant as
[rant]
...
...
[/rant]

You can also replace '[' and ']' with '<' and '>' respectively and, there, you have perfectly valid XML.

MBiL_248: Ah, that's why everything (okay: something) takes so long here: The employees are busy with really delicate investigations... :D

If you're tired from staring to blue / green / grey corridors, I have some ideas for a couple of eagerly awaited updates... :-)

Btw. I'm fine with all people who prefer System Shock over BioShock. I just wanted to clarify that it is a personal opinion, not a given fact.

Tarhiel: Not true. What Crossmando and I have in mind is not the graphical fidelity of those games - which is what you based your argument at - but level design (Bioshock borrowed it from SS), story complexity (I am surprised almost nobody mentions that Bioshock 1 is pure ripoff of SS2 story, cleaved to a bare bones, including the pivotal plot twist) and the whole philosophy of design (SS2 is immersive sim, Bioshock simplified this school of design and made it an intelligent shooter - much less broad, but still fun and effective in its execution).

By the way did you knowt they formerly made much more complex game, but their pilot testing group was puzzled by it (I don´t know what dumb asses they got there, since they couldn´t understand the freedom of approach), so they simplified the whole gameplay - and that´s what we have today?

They actually planned to do System Shock 3 in all but name - couldn´t get the rights from the IP hell they were back then, only NightDive succeeded some years later.
I love and admire Bioshock not for its gameplay - I don't like shooters - but its setting, its art style, its music and its fantastic atmosphere. There are so many details in that wonderful art deco underwater city I'm never tired of. The space station in System Shock was just boring for me - but as I said before, that's a matter of taste. Personally I would prefer BioShock as an adventure or at least role playing game, but I would be even fine with a mere walking simulator settled in Rapture or Columbia. ;-)

Tarhiel: How did you knew they were coming? :)
There were leaks :-) A lot of those leaks are posted on the Unofficial list of games coming here.

.Ra: I know the original will be available later but what is there difference between the remaster and original anyway?
The Remastered versions are DX11 games, meanwhile the original versions are DX9 and DX10...

And You have some extra playable content in Bioshock Remastered that is not available in the original version..

Ha, how I would love to see System Shock (and 2) with Bioshock's visual detail... Although I can't understand why the Citadel Station could perceived as "boring" - it's a pretty deadly place...
As for Bioshock as walking sim - have you tried SOMA?

Themken: I do not know as I do not even own them. Knowing they were coming here one day, I did not get them elsewhere.

I was interested und have seen a couple of videos in Youtube, but it fits not the unique Bioshock style for me. I like that certain noir style with the art deco elements. Rapture and Columbia are next to Rocksteady's Gotham City my favourite game locations (except the lonliness, I wish ithere were more people) - but as always: very personal assessment. :-)

Of course it's not exactly boring if you play through it, but the art style of System Shock doesn't appeal me. Reminds me on the Alien films, but I'm rather the Blade Runner type. ;-)

Bioshock is about story and combat. I think calling it a walking sim is a disservice to the great story it has. Without combat interruptions we couldnt enjoy the story fully.

Socratatus: So how long has it been? 10-15 years when Bioshock came out forcing everyone onto their limited DRM? I hated it then.

Talk about tight to finally let it free now.
Now we can only hope Infinite comes soon as well.

JudasIscariot: Well, your personal opinion is just wrong. Wrong, I say! :P

English is better anyways!

MBiL_248 above mentioned he could imagine Bioshock as a walking sim - and why not? A good non-combat exploration game set in decaying Rapture could be very atmospheric. Could even be a game like "What Remains of Edith Finch" chronicling the demise of various citizens of the underwater city.

Bullshit.
