No Gods or Kings or DRM.

Update: Classic versions of Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are now available. If you already own Bioshock Remastered or Bioshock 2 Remastered, you can download classic versions directly from your GOG library.

BioShock™ and BioShock 2™ Remastered are finally available DRM-free.

The legendary shooters emerge from somewhere beyond the sea, dripping with that deliciously claustrophobic atmosphere of decay, corruption, and human ambition gone wrong.
Widely considered as the gold standard for story-driven shooters with light RPG elements, they have been remastered to feature higher resolution textures and models, director's commentary, and several other additions that ensure time will never wash them away.
Pump yourself full of plasmids, pump your enemies full of bullets, and dive right back into Rapture's beautifully rotten halls.

RichardHallas: Can we please have the Mac versions made available too?

Both Bioshock games are brilliant, and they're available – in both original and Remastered versions – for Mac as well as PC. But GOG has only the PC versions. It's always really frustrating when that happens. Please add the Mac versions as well, if you possibly can.

Digital_CHE: NEVER!
The publishing rights for the Mac versions belong to FERAL INTERACTIVE....
And they are DRM LOVERS.
this makes me so sad :(
Big thanks to 2K and GOG for bringing these two classics here!

Indeed they have some weird opposition to releasing DRM-free. That's why we don't see any of the Linux games here as well.

I'm more interested in the Linux version of Bioshock Infinite though, which was produced by Virtual Programming. VP shouldn't be opposed to DRM-free releases, though some of their games are missing here as well.

I know the original will be available later but what is there difference between the remaster and original anyway?
Instabought.

Bioshock is literally my most favorite game series.

For those on the fence, I'm giving away 2 sets of Bioshock1+2 here https://www.gog.com/forum/general/bioshock_giveaway
Once again, thanks a lot 2K and GOG!

greeklover: OH YEAH!!! Can we get them on gog connect? No? Ok:)

Where is Minerva's Den, the dlc for Bioshock 2?

JudasIscariot: It's in the game already :)
and thank you Judas ; >

shmerl: Do they work well in Wine+dxvk?

Themken: I do not know as I do not even own them. Knowing they were coming here one day, I did not get them elsewhere.
How did you knew they were coming? :)
Have them elsewhere already, but this is great coup for GOG.com. Congratulations! I'll pick them up just to support you.
This is awesome.
Thank you Got an 2K games.
Info about including classic Bioshock 1&2 in later term is indeed a good one, I'm wondering though if Bioshock 2 (Classic) won't be "castrated" from MP option. Probably it will be, but it would be good if this thing will be openly clarified by GOG.
Very nice, well done
low rated
One of the most overrated games ever, there are actually people out there who thought this game was a worthy successor to System Shock 2.
got them both... thanks gog!
At 5 bucks each I've no excuse to delay my trial run of Bioshock any further... seems I missed the glory days again. :D

Now comes the agonizing step of actually choosing between the original and the remastered on my first run... If the remaster doesn't change too much think I'm going with that one...

Thanks GOG and 2K for FINALLY getting them here :P
So how long has it been? 10-15 years when Bioshock came out forcing everyone onto their limited DRM? I hated it then.

Talk about tight to finally let it free now.
