Hellfire expansion is now available as a free add-on for everyone who purchases the Blizzard classic Diablo on GOG.COM.

Originally developed by Synergistic Software and released in 1997, Hellfire was not an official Blizzard product and did not carry Blizzard’s endorsement or label. Despite that, in response to Diablo players who have expressed a desire to experience the content, Blizzard has given the OK for it to be included as a free add-on with Diablo purchases on GOG.COM.

Hellfire offers a non-canonical single-player storyline where players must defeat a powerful demon named Na-Krul who is threatening Tristram. The expansion also adds a Monk class, new weapons and items, new missions, locations, dungeons, and enemies. Hellfire will be accessible while launching the original Diablo.

The Hellfire expansion comes with high-resolution support and compatibility updates to allow it to run on modern systems, and it’s available now as a free add-on for everyone who purchases the Blizzard classic Diablo. The game is currently 10% off during the Summer Sale Festival until June 17, 10 PM UTC.
Trying to open the Hellfire option is causiing the same crash that plagued the original GOG release, except adding Hellfire to the DEP exceptions isn't fixing the problem in this case.

blotunga: Unbelievable. Now I think you guys should tackle some impossibles like Dungeons Siege 1,2 and expansions and maybe even Star Trek Armada :D
I concur, especially with the Dungeon Siege titles! :)

tinyE: Has anyone ever won this with the Monk?

I can't remember if he had any real weapons.
Is the monk anything like the NWN monk? Cause I beat entire vanilla NWN campaign with a monk build. Let me tell you, when you get your bare-fisted monk (not a kama build) to level 20, it's like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Chuck Norris all rolled into one character. It's got to be seen to be believed. Talk about OP.
Huh.
I hope this isn't the Twilight Zone. Hell just went a couple degrees cooler.
Yay! I still have the original disc, but it's great to have a drm-free version.

NO! XD
The NWN is a MACHINE! Using him is almost cheating. He tears anything and everything to pieces.

I agree. Those Gloves of the Hin Fist + Robes of the Shining Hand = unstoppable. Fistfighting a dragon...LOL!

Anyway, you are saying the Diablo monk is weak?
Wow, I really am impressed.

This is absolutely amazing.

Well played, GOG.
Completely unexpected, I thought this would be impossible, well done GOG!

Last time I used him was when the expansion came out. My memory is shit at best, but I remember him being super super fast, but not really designed for weapons, which worries me.

triock: Now waiting for Starcraft 1, Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3!!!
I'm not expecting Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2 here, but these older titles would be instabuys for me.
Good job , i played this on 5x86 amd 133 MHz(overcloked to 166mhz) with 16 mb of ram, good memory of game still have original disk without expension, but boy i played with monk

He is good and fight with stuff or bare fist, with stuff he can hit several opponent with fist fast and very agile
