The lost chapter in the Bhaalspawn saga

Siege of Dragonspear, the brand new expansion that bridges the gap between Baldur's Gate I and II, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

What happened to our heroes after they defeated Sarevok and before they ended up captives inside Jon Irenicus' prison lab? Did they stick together? Did they drift apart? Did Boo get to bite any more delicious eyeballs? The brand new 25-hour expansion Siege of Dragonspear promises to answer these pressing questions, which have been lingering for 18 whole years, while also delivering an adventure worth of Baldur's Gate's glorious legacy.

A powerful army led by a charismatic warrior only known as the Shining Lady has been pillaging the Sword Coast, forcibly enlisting locals and causing general unrest. Even more disturbing are the rumors of her also being the child of a god. A showdown is inevitable.
Siege of Dragonspear brings your party to entirely new areas of the Sword Coast, facing new monsters, finding new loot, and tackling new quests. All your companions from Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition return and are joined here by Captain Schael Corwin, a deadshot archer, Voghiln the Vast, a mighty northerner warrior, M’Khiin Grubdoubler, a goblin shaman (new class), and Glint Gardnersonson, the kind gnome cleric. Your RPG experience gets even more enhanced thanks to the improved UI and Infinity Engine features, which will feel both familiar and welcome to new and seasoned players alike.

If you want to get the OST from the original Baldur's Gate, plus the extra tracks composed for the Enhanced Edition and Siege of Dragonspear, you can also grab Siege of Dragonspear - Digital Deluxe Edition.
Note that GOG Galaxy support for achievements in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, and Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition - Siege of Dragonspear is going to be implemented in the near future.

Continue the saga of the Bhaalspawn and deal with a rising power in Siege of Dragonspear, DRM-free on GOG.com.

So, how much content is in this?
This seems very expensive, considering it's 3$ more that the base game (not count the discount)...

Is there a new level cap? If so, how does this work with importing to BG 2?

tburger: I'll pick it at some point but for now there are just too many classics being (or with 2K - will be) released here - so I'll skip.
Not to mention that it doesn't come with a manual... ;-)

IAmSinistar: New Baldur's Gate content? That has to be some kind of record between original game release date and DLC. :)

[...]
Since it requires the Enhanced Edition, do we count from the original game release date? ;-P

Well as far as manuals are concerned I'm a happy man now as I recently have got plenty of them in 2K releases..including lovely Notebook in TFTD...They don't make such gems nowadays....

Ranayna: Is there a new level cap?
The XP cap is 500,000, obviously level varies by class.

Adventurer's Guide
If you want to know more about how to play Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, you had best read the Field Report. There you will learn how the rules are applied, whereas here we shall explore the foundations. If Volo kept more to his facts and less to his ale, that is. —Elminster

Sword Coast Survival Guide
This guidebook is one of the very finest in my ongoing tour of the Realms. I guarantee you’ll find no more diligent guide than your humble servant, Volothamp Geddarm. I’ve spent the past six months journeying around the fine port city of Baldur's Gate and subjecting myself to horrors beyond belief. Poor food, small beds, drafty accommodations—no peril is too vast for your friend and compatriot, Volothamp Geddarm. In thy service! —Volothamp Geddarm

While we wait for Ben to get into the office, I thought I'd drop the Siege of Dragonspear manuals here for your perusal.

This is all the confirmation I need that Baldur's Gate 3 is coming soon.

Not buying it today, but soon.
cool

wishlist
Wishlisted for now.
I'll definitely buy it some time, but I cannot afford it right now.

This double price thing for the soundtrack should be a joke of course!
Would make sense to wait until more reviews from people who finish the game before purchase, after all, was there any good reason to have a continuation after end of BG2 ? (the addition of OST which everyone got already with the originals is a pisstake).

But but but... it's TWO soundtracks!
Two, as in double, so that totally justifies doubling the price!*

It's not after BG2, It's set bewtween 1 and 2 and bridges the gap between those two games.
This does look interesting, and I would be willing to purchase it, to at least hopefully see a BG3 someday. But, looking at the requirements, they seem a bit low. Are the graphics pixelated? Or not up to today's standards? Before spending the money for the game, I am wondering about the graphics.

I don't have the expansion yet, but the enhanced editions graphics are slightly higher resolution than the original. It's not 3d so that's a plus.
Anyway I didn't even had time to start playing the EE so wishlisted for now.
Personally I think is overpriced that DCL, so I will wait when you could buy this for 9$. For near the same price I bought Pillars of Eternity: Champion Edition, for less buck I bought two expansion for it. Also for slightly higher price I bought Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition...

kind regards
Adam
oh man, that price for the soundtrack doubles it up :)
thanks for release
£15! Well, that's going on the wish list until a big discount, especially after the con of the insomnia sale versus this sale. As for the dlc itself, does it work with big world setup? How does this affect character progression - I normally play solo, and find that before the end of bg2 I hit the level cap, how many levels will this add in as it may break the second and throne of bhaal? Also, how does this fit in with story? Were you not travelling south from bg when attacked and captured, never mentions much about any adventures, but its been a while since I last played.
