immi101: the classic Icewind Dale soundtrack includes 51 tracks + 18 tracks from the Heart of Winter soundtrack
the "enhanced" soundtrack only includes the 51 tracks from the base game.

since buying the enhanced versions gives you the classic version+soundtrack as well, I don't see why you would want to be this new releases ?!?

unless you are okay with buying the same thing twice to get the soundtrack in FLAC format.

Stig79: I don't think you get the soundtrack added with the Classic version after an EE purchase now. Got removed when they started selling the new soundtracks separately.
When PST:EE with PST:EE OST became available, the classic version of it (available through a gift code with a key as a part of the purchase of PST:EE on GOG) still offered original soundtrack.

Stig79: I gave a BG gift code to a friend of mine. He says the soundtrack is not included.
If it's the case as of today, then it's GoG's decision. Beamdog can't influence GoG's way of distribution of original games and their extras.

I remember the times when Good Old Games were giving such stuff as extras for free.

Shame on you GOG and Beamdog.

Just to clarify the non-EE OSTs if anyone is interested:
The BG OST is only 128 kbit, the BG2 OST is 320 kbit, the IWD OST is 256, and IWD: HoW OST is 160.

Of course. Beamdog does absolutely nothing wrong. When SoD failed it was the customers and GamerGate's fault. When the buggy EE versions got stick it was because of GamerGate hating the new gay NPC in it. Now it is GoG's fault for selling your games "wrong".

wongheiming: What's the point of buying OTS without owning the base game?
Music is part of the game, and it can influence the mood when you playing games.
Standalone game music even it is a great one, is not attached to anything.
Says CIV 4 original intro music is a great one, but without the intro movie, how do you rate it?
If Beamdog sold the OTS along with initial release, we won't get much upset here.
We have to disagree here. There are some soundtracks that I really like, but I wouldn't buy the game (because I don't like the genre or the game is bad). Would buy the soundtrack (and sometimes did on services like bandcamp), but can't as long as they are handled as DLC.

Another reason might be that I already own the base game somewhere else or as a retail copy, but want to buy the soundtrack here.
Have just redeemed my own gift code for BG Original Saga. It shows the original soundtrack as a pack. Tell your friend to double-check.

Here's the proof:

Vythonaut: So, you decided to match the Beamdog stores prices with the current Steam prices, yet you sell them at full price on GOG? Do you expect anyone will choose to buy them from here? At the very best, GOG-loyal people will wishlist them and wait for the same discount; in the worst case scenario, they'll buy them from Steam.

juliusborisov: Beamdog can't influence prices set in the GoG store.
Forgive me then; i thought GOG (or any other store) had to make an agreement with a publisher, before offering their games on sale with a specific discount -- didn't know that (some?) publishers don't actually influence the prices. Anyway, whatever happened in the background regarding the soundtrack releases, i still think a launch discount (as GOG usually does for many games that arrive here somewhat late) or price-matching would benefit both GOG customers & GOG/Beamdog.

I will absolutely tell him to double check. If he is wrong I apologize on his behalf.
I read in this thread that people who bought the Enhanced Editions got codes for the original versions of those games. How about people who bought the Enhanced Editions before the original versions were removed from GOG's store? That would be me and I just checked my email. I never received any such codes. Am I looking in the wrong place? Or am I simply not eligeble to the original games because I purchased these games before the originals were removed?

You don't get a code in an email. Read on how to get the original games here - https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/61669/availability-of-original-games-on-gog-com. I'm not sure about your situation - please, check. If the gift code is not available for you, then it's GoG whom you should contact.

The_Gypsy: Is Throne of Bhaal even from a lossless source? I believe that PS:T saw a foreign release with the soundtrack, making FLAC is plausible. ToB has no such release to my knowledge and the source materials were all supposedly lost so....?
I guess I'm not going to get an answer on this?

Thanks a lot, that was very helpful indeed. I appreciate it. I am almost exclusively using Galaxy when browsing GOG's forum these days but I had to be logged into the website to get the option for serial keys.
