Ruvika: Whaaaaaaaaaaat? That is so expensive, doesn't GOG have reginal prices?
avatar
Breja: I'm a little confused, to be honest. Not having regional pricing used to be something GOG was quite proud of, and when they introduced regional pricing many people got very angry. And now I see people complaining about the lack of regional pricing. So which is it, GOG community? Do we hate regional pricing or outrigh demand it? :D
The GOG community consists of multiple people, with different desires.

I know, I know. I'm just kidding because I remember it being such a big deal, people being so upset, GOG betraying one of their core principles etc. that it just kinda tickles me to now see people outright demanding what once so infuriated the community. And it makes me wonder if one day people will be similarly demanding DRM. Actually, some people pretty much are, with achievements.

Personally, I'm rather indifferent to regional pricing. I mostly buy games when they are on sale anyway.

mdqp: Dark Alliance is basically an action rpg/Diablo-clone, right?
avatar
rtcvb32: If Hack&Slash equals Diablo clone, then yes.

Spells and theme are squarely in D&D though. Feats and the like, well they are oddly streamlined for the specific classes.

And a few familiar actors, which sound a bit phoned in.
I see, thanks. I am not a big fan of hack and slash of that kind, so it's good to have confirmation.

The achievements are DRM'ed, but they're optional here. They're not asking for DRM on the game itself.
I guess you're kidding again...

But then there's this guy (you know who) that keeps repeating that games with achievements on Steam and not on GOG shouldn't be sold here... I have no words for that.

Crosmando: Honestly, this game just reminds me of a sadder time when dying Interplay forced Black Isle to stop making CRPGs and start making casual action-games for consoles.
Underrated, overignored post. Notice how everyone here but me picked it out?
It looks like a nice realese from a classic game.
I vaguely remember that game at the time it was released...
although I consider the price a bit exaggerated for an old game release.

Since I am on GOG I'm aware that has regional pricing, some games are cheaper and that helps a lot to customers from third world like me. We have small salaries and big taxes, pay a full price is quite complicated, with the introduction of regional pricing from Steam, piracy reduced a lot here, to almost zero.
Here on GOG cost $29.47 + 65% = $48.66 dollars and on Steam cost $1.88+65%=$3.11! (I'm selling copies for $10 now, who want somes?), on Epic $12+65% = $19.8, and XBOX $14+65%= $23.1, the GOG version is clearly overpriced at least in my region, it make it imposible to buy and is way cheaper on other stores, I'm even tempted to return to Steam with those prices (naa, not really, I got some self respect as customer). But got to say it's tempting.

UNDERRATED OVER IGNORED POST. NOTICE HOW EVERYONE IGNORED IT AND ONLY I PICKED IT OUT.

This proves what's wrong with gamers, focusing on less relevant points.

I noticed the comment. I didn't know Black Isle was forced to stop making CRPGs. I had a lot of fun with those RPGs on PC. However, I also had a lot of fun playing games like Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath with friends.
I hope they bring two here. Would probably get this when the price is not ridiculous.

WinterSnowfall: Hmmm... thank you for the recommendation, but nostalgia aside, there are better games you can get today for the same price. I'd have totally grabbed this if it was €15, but €30... I'd hate to be the guy who decided on that price, 'cause it's gonna hurt sales rather badly.
I've actually spend a few days of my life trying to repair my old PS2 to replay this game and I felt like it was as fun as it was back then.

But I agree that the price point is truely quite steep, I'd highly recommend the game still but only if you can afford it. The game is lenghty though and you have to play through it several times.

by saying you had a lot of fun with dumbed down console games, you are justifying their decision in their minds. pc gamers should never support consoles and do everything they can to censor, oppress, and minimise all console content, even on console websites. that way the couch surfing game devs who larp as gamer now, can't access console players.

I will never understand how Crevurre wasn't banned yet. I got warned for the most minor, downright imagined "offences", like quoting Just Dropped In. Yes, really. He can insult people left and right and troll every single thread he enters and call people to "oppress" and "censor" people for what games they enjoy, and it's all good.

stop calling people trolls. maybe that's your problem. ... i insulted no one here, another lie. fooling mods to banning other people is shady
