Dancing in the dark.

Aragami, a supernaturally-imbued stealth game, is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 10% launch discount.

Moving silently and avoiding light sources doesn't make you one with the shadows. You must dance with them, embrace them, let them flow through you like you flow through them. As a vengeful spirit summoned to this world by an enigmatic girl that wants to escape her prison, Aragami must fight the army of Light by disposing of its unwitting minions. Not an easy undertaking, but he yields the power to control the shadows, bend and twist them at will, and have them consume his opponents while keeping his presence concealed. Every challenge can be approached through multiple paths, however, and sparing your oblivious enemies may appeal to you more than bathing your sword in their blood. As long as you reach Yamiko in time to fulfil your mysterious destiny.

Infiltrate a well-protected city and cast your shadows upon its guards, as the vengeful Aragami, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Want to cover your footsteps with some atmospheric music? Then consider upgrading to the Collector's Edition, which includes both the OST and the fancy artbook.
The 10% discount will last until October 10, 3:59 PM UTC.

Garrison72: Wow. This looks like total shit. You guys accept anything and everything now?
I bet you have an easy time getting out of jury duty.
Wishlisted.

Love stealth games - particularly "ghostable" ones (which this one on the game card implies that it is).

A bit put-off by the idea of $28 for it + OST; so would wait for a sale (considering I don't even know how easy/hard it is, if the AI is any good, if it really is ghostable, how long a game it is, how linear it may be, etc.

One possible big concern is that the first review claims the keys are not re-bindable. That is usually a big problem for me; because I highly prefer using the arrow (and not WASD) for movement; with the surrounding keys (HOME END etc) and numpad for other actions. Now - if it turns out they are re-bindable, but you just have to edit a file or something - that I can handle. Jury is out on that atm..

Hope it "passes the tests" in my mind that have me holding off for the moment - will keep an eye on it..

AvatarX001: Ok, you got me. Maybe something like Nightmare Creatures and Bloodborne, but cross-platform or for PC.
Yeah, damn platform exclusivity. But it seems to be the next best thing to a new Nightmare Creatures game. ( Frankly, it's probably better than the NC games ever were. ) Not sure about similar games on PC... Perhaps consider giving Victor Vran a look?
It looks very good but I am skeptic about gameplay and longevity.

fronzelneekburm: I'm already pleasantly surprised by this game. I can run it on my laptop (which is about as suitable for a modern game as a toaster or an electric razor).
I doubt that MY laptop (nor any of my computers) can ever run it. The specs talk about 1 GB VRAM at least.

Guuuuuh. Not cool...between this and finally breaking down and buying Stardew Valley...eff...to wait and see how Aragami does or just get it... but other games are out later this month...

..this is the kind of stealth game I'd be very much interested in...and I don't care for most stealth games...

And that music... ( checking it out on Youtube since apparently Two Feathers put 'em up and explaining what they were thinking of when trying to write the music )

Damn.

Daaaaaamn.

..I'm a sucker for good music.

Problem solved. You won't really need any other games for the next few months. :P

This is my big hang-up right now as well. I'm a huge stealth nut, and was all set to hit the buy button, then decided to read the two reviews here. I may be able to get by playing with CTRL as my crouch key, but I've been using C for the last 20 years, and don't think I can change.

OTOH, I want this badly enough to give it a try.

Makes me also wonder if the Y-axis is not reversible. So many of these games just leave out that option these days, or use engines that don't support it. That would totally kill it for me.

The developer said they will be adding rebindable keys in the next week or two, also the option to remove camera shake.

Anyone who has played this so far, how controller-friendly is it? It looks like an Xbox controller would be ideal for this game, but that's not always the case.

I just played the first chapter using the 360 controller and it worked great, very easy to use.
Tested the Linux version last night and it definitely passes the Xbox 360 controller + keyboard and mouse test, i.e. the game doesn't freak out if you happen to have an Xbox 360 controller connected but decide to play it using the keyboard & mouse :)

Excellent, thanks!
Ok, I read the name and without reading the game's description or looking at screenshots or trailers here is the first thing that came to mind...

Aragami - Out of Middle-Earth comes an unexpected new epic journey of Aragorn. Taking place hundreds of years after The Lord of the Rings, the diverse races in many lands of Middle-Earth have been at constant peace for quite a long time and war and bloodshed have long become a thing of the past. Old beyond his years, Aragorn has become bored of the same boring daily routine and longs for the days when adventurous quests and travel were commonplace. Like many folk in Middle-Earth he has turned to various arts and crafts to bide his time as the years passed by. But one craft Aragorn has become renowned for across Middle-Earth is his legendary mastery of the art of origami, which he learned from an old tome found on location in Orthanc which was given to him in his younger days after the defeat of Sauron by the hobbits that made the unique discovery.

In Aragami, you will join Aragorn on his epic quest to travel the lands of Middle-Earth bringing the lost art of origami to the denizens of all of the distant lands from coast to coast far and wide! For the peoples of Middle-Earth, paper folding will never again be the same!
Glad seeing this survived despite the kickstartet failure. New name, but seems to deliver the tenchu-esque feeling that caught my eye on the first place.
I hope it's as good as it looks, to switch from wishlisted to in library ;)
Is it KB&M friendly, key rebinding perhaps ? or best played on a pad kind of thing.
