I just found this post at Steam some what confirming that it is not a extended ending but just a poorly described add on lore video of sorts. Lets wait and see if the developers can confirm this. It seems the most logical explanation.

"Its not the ending of the main game. The main game has an ending for the storyline. The video in the DLC is more of a "historical" record that bridges the world of Deep Descent with world of Archimedean Dynasty/Aquanox.

Calling it "extended ending" really isn't the term they should have used. "

Total lack of professionalism.

Milked DLC.

Games getting 5-6/10.

Evidently a retelling of the 3 games not a 'new' game.

Long time in development with a history of long delays.

I'd love some underwater combat and the concept looks awesome but I think this is one people should be more cautious on getting.
The game does not look bad to me. Was it supposed to be a new game or more a re imagination/ retelling of the originals with more modern looking graphics and game play?

The Kickstarter description seems to indicate it is a re imagining more than a direct sequel or new game

Didn't know this was in development, seeing the not very good reviews I'm goint to wishlist it and buy it when it goes on sale.
Good to have this kind of games btw.
et un jeu de shoot de plus... cette fois sous l'eau. #blazé
I have one tiny favour to ask - can someone drop the actual review to the review section of the game?
Right now it's a "hurr durr locked ending" fest. Yes, we know, it's literally written in the description section just two scrolls-up above.

Thanks.

I agree with this. How is the actual game? As a few people have commented on Steam the extended ending is some kind of lore video extra and it seems it is not a full ending locked behind a pay wall. They just worded it poorly apparently.

I wish people would make these inquiries before making reviews based on this alone.

I just reached out to one of the developers via Discord for official confirmation. The extended ending is not some locked paywall ending.

"Hey everyone.

As there is some confusion about the "extended ending" we wanted to make it perfectly clear that this was a homage to our backers from the Kickstarter, a bridge between Deep Descent and the old games in the series. We are very sorry that it was perceived as the real ending that was not our intent at all.

We listen to all of you and we have decided to make it available for everyone next week to avoid further misunderstandings. "

So, everyone can start focusing on the actual game now. :)

What's the real story, though? Where are they from, they don't know anyone who speaks English?
They are from Germany I think.

Correction. The original Archimedian Dynasty was from a German Studio.

As was the developers of the original Aquanox.

But the new game seems like it is developed by a Serbian Studio.

I just tried a Steam version (not mine) for an hour or so and to be frank it does not look good...
Primo: the kb+m controls are horrendous. OK, I was playing it on someone else PC, so part of this could be attributed to different mouse setings and so on, but even with this taking into account it was still like trying to drive a brick through the tank full of treacle. Maybe it's better with the controler, but I seriously doubt it - it feel really, really bad.
Secundo: AI controlled units (both friends and foes) are going full retard waaaay too often. I don't mind a small glitches now and then, but things like trying to continuously ram the hill for 20 minutes, while trying to go from point A to B with aforementioned hill in the way or going into mexican standoff every time when encountering the enemy is a bit too much.
Tertio: during the campaign the "level" or rather battlefield construction is full of blockades/walls/forcefields that are restricting your movements to rather small area. While I can see logic behind it - it was done to make sure that you went the right way to progress - I can't shake the feeling that the way it was done is a worst possible one. Adding the borked controls to it, and it feel like realy badly made shooter on rails...

So, despite being a real sucker for underwater sim with shooting, I decided that I'll pass this title and wait for the big discount or serious patch, because right now I don't fell like it's worth the price tag slapped on it. :(
Does the game have any Skirmish battles?
Reviews on the gamecard are hot mess right now - moderation would be recommended.

You don't like my review?
I copy/pasted part of the description of the game and gave it two stars, and I don't even own the game.

GOG reviews are such a joke.

Why did you even do that for? For trolling purposes? Shame on you.
