StarChan: To anyone who wants to go to the reviews section of this game and give it 1 star because it's late: Don't. Complaining about circumstances around a game is not a review. It's rather annoying to have to sift through such bombing to finally find someone who has played the game and can say something informative about it.
Zoidberg: To anyone who wants to go to the reviews section of this game and give it 1 star because it's late, PLEASE DO!
In this era of fake news and damage control, it is important to allow information to circulate, EVERY piece of information.
You want to express your dismay at questionable business practices? Please do, but keep it sensible and make it clear which part of your judgment is of the game itself, and which part is of the business practice.
The problem is this is rarely done. Most review posts about business practices and pricing dont differentiate. They just give the game a low rating based on no X release, price is too high, developers treat gog users as second class, or the game is too buggy dont buy... and more often than not never discuss valid points of the game it self.
Reviews such as the above, particularly ones about bugs are better suited to forum posts. Using reviews as bug reports and criticisms beyond those about the game it self never really help the game. So, it is hard to take a 1 star rating seriously when the review comes across as a childish rant about all the things they hate that the developers did or did not do.
Personally I dont see any questionable business practices in a late GOG release (and believe me I love it when games launch on GOG at the same time as Steam)......if that was the case most games that came to gog would be getting such treatment.
Also, the devs of this game made a good post discussing the reasons and they all sound reasonable to me.
