A Triple-A Ubisoft Digital Premiere

They may have been nearly lost since the late nineties, but they're very much alive in game design (and our fond memories) even to this day. Today's triple Digital Distribution Premiere from Ubisoft is not just a set of releases that start with the letter A, it's also a collection of games that introduced something new to their genre, offered a unique combination of playstyles and design choices, or tried something fresh and risky with great payoff.

All three releases are updated to work with Windows 10, and are available in a classic Ubisoft bundle at 20% off!

Anno 1602 A.D. is the one that spawned a series famed for its ambitious mix of real time strategy, business simulation and city building. It's a game that throws you, a pioneer of the unknown, into humanity's most far out frontier to colonise and conquer. Here, you'll find everything from exploration, trading, resource management, diplomacy and even combat - truly solidifying the experience of a true freedom to design your world, and the absolute control to do so your way. Anno 1602 A.D. includes Anno 1602: Creation of a New World and its expansion Anno 1602: New Islands, New Adventures.

Albion is a game that takes classic RPG and Dungeon Crawling, a healthy dose of humor, and risks its dangerous voyage far, far beyond earth into humanity's true final frontier. It's a deep-space adventure that draws bits and pieces from an unusual pairing of titles like The Elder Scrolls and Ultima - all to feature great looking 2D overworld exploration with detailed first-person 3D combat. Its most direct roots, however, stem from titles known as "Amberstar" and "Ambermoon" - two parts of an Amiga trilogy that never came to be concluded. Designed by the original team behind the Amiga classic, Albion is their true spiritual successor in everything but the name.

Archimedean Dynasty takes on one of humanity's biggest, most unfamiliar and inaccessible unknowns: the deep, dark sea. You'll pilot a state-of-the-art submarine to brave the depths and trenches of an underwater colony in turmoil. The bulk of the gameplay will be familiar to veterans of series like X-Wing or Freespace, but it's the absolutely unique setting and atmosphere that truly make this title worth remembering. Archimedean Dynasty soon spawned the AquaNox series, making today's release the final piece of a trilogy unique enough to truly earn a place on anybody's shelf.

Brave the distinct unknowns with the Anno 1602 A.D., Albion, and Archimedean Dynasty bundle, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The launch discount will last for one week, until Wednesday, August 5, 1:59 PM GMT.
Well bought all 3 was also interested in Archimedean Dynasty put for all 3 together was worth paying more for. Thanks Ubisoft for giving gog more of your games/
Anno!!!! Awesome :D
I hope we'll also get the AddOn for Anno 1602.
Damn...you certainly know how to whip out surprises, GOG.
My wallet can cry all it wants, but there's no way I'm not getting Albion and Archimedean Dynasty at the very least.

Also, credit where credit is due. I've had issues with you for quite a while, Ubisoft, but if you're willing to put out items like this, I'm more than willing to be one of your paying customers again.
The more of your old catalog you bring to the table via GOG, the more I'll buy.
Now I don't know how good either the GOG version is or this mod, however I thought I would mention it - haven't had chance to install Albion or this yet so just take as reference. This mod came up on Indie Retro News a few months back:

Allegedly has enhanced rendering capabilities.

Vitek: Apparently Revenant is coming to GOG as well.

IAmSinistar: Nice! Apparently there were some tech issues with the game as well, guess those have been resolved. Will be another immediate purchase. Might still have the CD version here.
Is there something I missed about this game ? I had it (have it ? Can't remember if I disposed of it or not) boxed on release, thought it was boring as all hell, but it's been touted time and again on these forums as a much anticipated release.
Hence my curiosity. What did I miss ?

Albion! I have been waiting way too long for you to add this game. Best Good Old Game release in quite a while.

It's not a mod but a binary recompilation and since I was the one who asked the coder for compiling a Desktop Linux and Windows port, I've posted it quite often on the boards and wishlist and did so already in this thread too:

BTW: Your link links to a warez site with the game files as it seems and isn't legal.

Ooooh! Does that suggest that we may eventually get the other Anno's as well?

In that case i might have to pull some items off of my Steam wishlist!
Nice job on GOG'S part to convince Ubi to bring new stuff here.
Albion <3
Never thought it would be possible to see this happening!

Argh,. Windows only. Why, considering it is a DOS game? )-8

GOG has rebuilt the files, the structure isn't the same (i.e. videos folder is missing, game.gog file of 140mb is likely responsible for crap they cut out etc), it's not gonna work out of the box I think. The mod/rebuild that is.

IronArcturus: Wow, I can't believe GOG actually got the prequel to Aquanox! Has anyone tried Archimedean Dynasty before? How does it compare to the other Aquanox games?
Amazing game, one of y all time favs, play with a stick if you can. I never did play the sequals becuase I heard that the story and atmosphere of Dynasty was taken out.
Nice to see more Ubi games on GOG!
