Time to exercise those little grey cells, mon ami.

Agatha Christie - The ABC Murders, an investigation/mystery adventure, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows, Mac, and Linux with a 20% launch discount.

For some people murder comes as naturally as reciting the alphabet. For others the same is true for solving them. Hercule Poirot, the eccentric, mustachioed detective with the formidable grey cells, is one of those people. "A" is for his adorable Belgian accent. "B" is for the impressive brain power possessed by such a little man. And "C" is for all the clues you will need to examine during your desperate investigation that will put a stop to the murdering spree of the appropriately named "A.B.C. killer".

For not only is this man terrorizing the British countryside by leaving a trail of alphabetically sequential victims, he even has the audacity to personally challenge the great Hercule Poirot by questioning his intellectual prowess. Such insolence cannot stand! Step into the well-polished shoes of the legendary detective, collect information, question the suspects and establish the timeline of the crimes. Your deductions will decide this sinister battle of wits and secure Poirot's reputation as the ultimate detective of our times. And the most modest.

Decipher the clues and solve Agatha Christie - The ABC Murders before the curiously-named murderer strikes again, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 20% discount will last until February 12, 5:59 PM GMT.

Breja: That's all nice and well, but I'd rather GOG get the Sherlock Holmes games, especially the upcoming Devil's Daughter.

Dalswyn: And considering drm -free versions of these games exist at least up until the Jack the Ripper episode, their absence is a case only Sherlock Holmes himself could tackle.
And one of those actually is here. So why not all? 'tis a mistery. And I'd love to see the new upcoming one get a DRM free release. I always looked forward to those games. I don't buy games on release day any more, what with my backlog and knowing a sale will come along soon enough, but that new Sherlock Holmes game is one of the very few I'd buy on day one.
Speaking of DRM-free, FireFlower scored a Day-1 on this one. Nice! I mean, I'll pick it up here when I do pick it up most likely, but still nice...

AlienMind: Audio and text: English, français.
And the english audio even has a french accent :)

mrkgnao: It's Belgian, not French.
To be fair the accent is French since there is no Belgian language. Poirot may be Belgian but he speaks French (well, English with a French accent for the most part).
Good release for point-and-click fans.

To be fair, while indeed there is no Belgian language (ignoring Flemish as irrelevant to the discussion, as well as such quaint dialect examples as nonante and septante), I am pretty confident that there is such a thing as a Belgian accent, probably more than one, just like there is, say, a Yorkshire accent without there being a Yorkshire language. And I would further argue that Poirot speaks English with a Belgian accent, not a French one.

But all that is beside the point. I was just making a Poirot joke, as explained above (by me and by IAmSinistar).

It's really nice to see an adventure game being released, instead of yet another RPG or strategy.
Well done GOG. ( :
A bit too high priced to pick it up right now, especially considering my backlog of P&C Adventure games, but it looks really good.

Is the file size for the game correct? Says it's only an ~800MB download. Is it a very short game? Or do the stylized graphics help reduce the file size?

( Mind you, I'm not complaining -- I'm all for smaller download sizes, where such is possible. Just wondering if it's correct. )

I read the book when I was younger (recomand to all who likes detective stories),
I am curious how close they come to the original story.

Agreed ;-)
Flemish is Belgium's Dutch accent.
"Walloon" is Belgium's French accent.
Poirot's English is francophone Belgian's English accent.

But is there such a thing as a Walloon accent? There is a Walloon dialect with different words, but accent?

Yeah. Poirot is a jerk. I think there's at least one of the SH games here though?

Yeah, the Silver Earring. It's a good one, but the series really hit it's stride with the next one, The Awakened.

Also, why in the hell was I downvoted? I didn't say this is a bad game or anything, I just mentioned I'd like to see the Sherlock Holmes games here. This place has really gone to the dogs. I mean, for me it really doesn't matter, but I'm seeing users with low rep also downvoted for no reason like that, and they end up with negative rep, can't even post links. Can we just get rid of this "trolling made easy" rep system?

I second that. Would be great to see the missing Holmes games here - and the German version of Silver Earring, of course.

Now with the upcoming ScummVM support for the both EA classics, perhaps we can hope for a release of the Lost Filest at least.

I'd suggest sending Frogwares a message about this: http://www.frogwares.com/support.html

You somehow got my username on Breja's words. Intentional or just GOG forums striking again?
