Sim Heaven & Hell.

Afterlife, a Lucasfilm god game, a GOG.com digital premiere, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux--DRM-free on GOG.com.

Afterlife is... a weird game. It's so many things at once, and a few brand new concepts to boot. The premise is an otherworldly twist on SimCity - you're in charge of supplying a satisfactory afterlife experience to the inhabitants of the Planet. The Planetfolk, called EMBOs (or Ethically Mature Biological Organisms) and their SOULs (Stuff of Unending Life) need to be fully supplied with all the pleasure or pain they've earned in life - that includes an absolutely divine final reward, or a sadistic punishment. With plenty of structures, a complex tenet system (watch out for those HOHORALFSUMAists!), and extremely detailed sim mechanics - Afterlife is a unique, satirical god game to die for.

The game includes the official Reference Guide, courtesy of our forum friend EnforcerSunWoo. (Thank you!)

Don't fear the reaper, fear the disco inferno in Afterlife, a digital premiere now DRM-free on GOG.com!

dudalb: Yoda stories run fine though in the download verison.

tinyE: Where is the download version? I have the disc but that's obviously a no go.
It's on the same page as the Indy Desktop download that Paul31286 linked to.Just scroll down and follow the instructions as to installation.

The Indy Jones is a 16 bit program,so it's hopeless for a 64 bit system. Yoda is a 32 bit program ,but is has a 16 bit installer...a lot of games have that problem.. A lot of the Lucart gams that GOG sells had a 16 bit installer;all gog needed to do was replace that with a 32 bit installer for the games to work fine. But the Indy game itself is 16 bit...hopeless for a 64 bit system unless you go the virtual computer route or some other kind of 32 bit emulation.

Cool thanks. Now I don't need to cringe every time I see the disc sitting over there.
BTW to the person who asked if Afterlife has difficulty levels: yes, it does. Three,Easy,Medium and Hard.
Right above the "RePlay Cheesy Introduction" button.........

LostExile: Oh, I still have to original box+CD+manual of this.

JMich: Judas said that they couldn't find a manual for it, so if you can scan it (or send it to them), it may be worth it to contact Judas or support.
Just did so. I have a PDF manual I scanner from the paper manual I have.

LostExile: Its in Dutch, not sure if that makes it useful.
Submit it anyways if they'll take it! I don't see why there'd be an issue with offering multiple languages of the manual where they exist on GOG.com's servers. Even if I wouldn't be able to read it, it's always interesting looking through different manuals sometimes.

Like Flaming said, talk to Judas or another "bluetext" to see if they can include it anyway! :) Silent Service 2 has the German version of the manual despite no inclusion of the German version of that game.
Awesome release, I still have a working CD. GG GOG.
Never heard of it....

Bubble181: Just want to quickly point out that there *is* an option to build "just one" on lower difficulties. At the very beginnning of the game, the culture has only spread to one or two squares on the planet. HEAVILY investing in OCRA or OPRA (only heaven or only hell, respecitively - "only cloud realms await" and "only pit realms await) there to raise it to as nearly 100% as possible WILL cause the planet to develop along those lines. There'll be a very small minority who believes in both or the "other" one, but they're negligible (again, on lower difficulties - on the highest ones they'll bring down your income too much).
OPRA is actually easy: build the least diverse and most crappily designed SimCity and ta-da, you succeed. OCRA is a bunch harder.
In either case, it's impreative you NEVER built a gate to the "other" realm. Once you do, the demand rises, all the complaints start, and whatever. As long as you don't open it up, and suppress the believe in it strong enough early on enough, it's fine.

I, also, still have the box and the manual - but also only in Dutch :P
Maybe GOG could add it as an extra?
BTW my PDF of the manual is in English.
Wow, didn't expect to see this here. I only played it very very briefly (I was still too young to understand what was going on), but it seems like it's quite the game. Will get it ASAP!

Did you ever get a reply? We might have to kick up a bit of a fuss or the manual might never be made available.
