Voxels of mass destruction

8-Bit Armies, a fast-paced RTS of blocky voxel mayhem, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and a 10% launch discount.

War is a ruthless, violent, messy affair. Unless it's done by small blocky men, riding blocky vehicles, and bleeding blocky blood. Then it's also great fun. Because intense voxel warfare requires resources, resourcefulness, and mean commanding skills. But whether you're leading your weird-looking dudes through the 25-mission campaign or against your best friends, figuring out how to take advantage of every situation is only half the fun. The other half is simply spreading chaos and watching the destructible environment and soldiers go boom.

Unleash your 8-Bit Armies upon strategically placed voxels, DRM-free on GOG.com. If you can't get the game's electronic tunes out of your head, be sure to also grab the addictive soundtrack. The 10% launch discount on both the game and its OST will last until April 29, 4:59 PM UTC.
Gotta have.

I still wish they had it more like real war and they could have called it "Two-Bit Armies". *RIMSHOT*
RTS? Well, my wallet is safe again. But it looks nice, like Tron went to war. :-)
I guess, all the RTS lovers will have fun with this, so enjoy!

No, the 1st one. There were tanks and jet things and mother ships and crap.

Of course he did not. If he did, he'd know this looks nothing like it at all.

Grargar: Hmm, there is no launch discount on the soundtrack.
It's fixed and should show up any second now, sorry!

Well, Tron was one of my favorite movies in the 80s.

I was joking a little, but still- I have no idea where you see Tron in this. It's nothing at all like the blue and red neon lights and circuitry patterns of TRON.
i saw videos a while ago on youtube

i like RTS (comand and conquer and the likes (classic of course and not any 'inferior' 3d remakes)
i have some RTS games (classics)

8bit? why?

graphics look like vectors/voxels whatevr they call it, its not like real 8bit graphics , i like the old C&C much better
the requirements are pretty high for 8 bit armies :D

quadcore? please.... comeon guys :D
when i saw the videos i decided not to buy this game, I dont like the engine, the way it scrolls and all that and most of all i dont fancy the graphics, i'd take c&c classic anytime to this 8 bit armies.

minimal:
Processor: 2.6 GHz Dual Core Processor
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTS 250 or ATI Radeon HD 3870
DirectX: Version 11 (for the gpu?)

recommended is even heavvier, i gues becuase of the engine used?

Processor: 2.6 GHz+ Quad Core Processor
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 550 Ti or AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series
DirectX: Version 11

Features:
single-player - multi-player - co-op - achievements

very nice but i am old time gamer, no internet back then so this feature wont do for me.

when i saw it i had high hopes but after seeing the videos.... this is no nostalgic game for me, the names suggests 8bit bit its not.

it looks more like some lego art:

Well, I guess it`s mostly the blocky look of the tanks in the screenshots that remind me of Tron. I can`t say for sure, but I had a strong "Trony" feeling by looking at the screenshots.
Does it have Skirmish Mode or LAN play? What engine does it use?

i understand you could see some resemblance with Tron, i have sen the game ones, but the effects were too much , (stomache turning and all that stuff so i never watched it again)

Other then that, i cant see or name any plus to recommend it.
Oh wait: the price: the list price: 15 bucks thats the one thing thats recommendable its a good price for a game like this, too bad the game has nothing i like.
