A classic, reimagined.

80 Days, an award-winning choose-your-own-adventure, is available now on Windows and Mac OS X, DRM-free on GOG.com

If you haven't heard of Inkle's 80 Days, then you've probably at least heard of the story that inspired your future adventure: Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 Days. It's a familiar premise, and a timeless story - retold for a modern audience in a rebellious, steampunk spirit, and through a medium that couldn't be more relevant. In doing so, 80 Days creates a memorable narrative that takes all the greatest parts of a classic, and reinvents them in a way that's fresh, exciting, and wondrous once again. Set in an alternate 1872, you'll accompany Phileas Fogg in a wager to circumnavigate the globe - and together you'll shape your own interactive booklike adventure, and enjoy one of the most personal stories in gaming.

With the PC and Mac premiere 80 Days is also now bigger than ever, with 30 new cities in North and South America, major new characters, and brand new plotlines.

Go around the world in 80 Days, now DRM-free on GOG.com

Falkenherz: Hopefully paving the way for more visual novels and gamebook-style games on GOG, especially since Fighting Fantasy and Lone Wolf and the like are experiencing a kind of digital revival these days.

Impaler26: I agree. While 80 Days does not appeal to me it would be nice to see better gamebook style games like The Forest of Doom on GOG.

And it would also be cool to have some more Visual Novels here.
Besides a lot of crap there are some really good ones like Loren The Amazon Princess or Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~. Though GOG did reject Loren The Amazon Princess IIRC.
I'm not sure if I would call Go! Go! Nippon! great but agreed on wanting more VN's. :P

Telika: Will they also adapt their Sorcery series for pc ?
Found the answer in INKLE's blog:
No! We feel we really ought to make Sorcery 4 rather than adding to the existing games..!
...
EDIT
Sorry, that's not an answer to your question.
Actually INKLE don't mention a PC version of Sorcery in their blog.

Blasphemer! :P

Of course tastes are different but i like Go! Go! Nippon!. It's at least not the worst VN out there and the asking price of 8.99€ is ok. Many VN's are totally overpriced with asking prices of 19.99€ and above. That might be one of the reasons why GOG doesn't offer any VN's except for Hatoful Boyfriend so far.

Though seeing the recently added overpriced Telltale games i'm not so sure... :D

Niggles: Dare i say niche game? ;)
It's very popular and well known on Android

Matruchus: No, its adventure game :) Gog's main genre.

Obviously you missed my first post about the game then you would know I intend to buy it in the future at an appropriate (mobile price) off course :) It was just a sarcastic joke. On the other hand the game was listed under adventure genre when gog released it (the same as it is on steam and elsewhere). Gog obviously changed that since now its listed differently. Eitherway its a pointless disscussion since I did not even comment badly about adventure games. Cheers.

My sincere apologies, then.

I still stand by what I said in my previous post, though, even if I humbly acknowledge it's no longer aimed at you.

Take care. :)

Glad to see something a little different here. It's probably not my cup of tea, but if every game you guys released here was perfectly suited to my tastes, it would probably mean you're not building a sufficiently diverse catalog of games. Either way, it's good to see another good (originally) mobile game find its way to GOG. There's a lot of junk in the mobile world, but it'd be a shame to see the good games ignored.
I personally really appreciate the twists, turns, and meanders in the catalog. I like my gameplay diverse. Wishlisted for now, but it will be added soon. Thanks for bringing it GOG!
I hope this will eventually pave the way for quality (mind that word please) Visual Novels.
Even though the erotically inclined VN's get most of the attention, there are still a lot of VN's available that would even pass the puritan Australian laws ...

That said there also quite a few excellent quality erotic VN's, which focus on story rather than being a mindless fap-fest.

I was lucky enough to get this game for free one day on Amazon apps, and it's pretty fun- definitely a good way to spend a long train ride (which is appropriate, since most of the game involves embarking on long train/boat/car/gyrocopter rides). There are a lot of branching plotlines, and each game will be different for quite a while before you start seeing familiar scenarios. While I recommend it, $10 seems a little steep for what's essentially a long, well-written choose-your-own-adventure book... but then again, I already own it, so it's hard to imagine buying it again at any price.
I play this game on Android all the time. It's amazing on every level.
Got this on Android. Only played it once and lost. One thing I can say is that it surprised me. I expected something very light and shallow. I was wrong. It was quite engaging.
this fuckin thing looks really cool whaaaat.

I'm gonna watch a let's play of this. I may even buy this with no sale.
This looks very interesting, but I've only just managed to get my wishlist below 50 titles again, so I'll preted I didn't see it for now :D
Just a quick thank you to everyone that made it possible to bring this game here. I contributed on the wishlist (to bring it here) and have now bought my copy. Thanks again.
