Return to the Arcade.

The wait is finally over: 15 -count 'em- 15 essential SNK NEO・GEO classics that no gamer should be without, are finally available DRM-free on GOG.com!

These are the games that devoured our entire allowance when we were skipping school to beat them at the Arcade. For convenience's sake, we've broken them down into three bundles:

METAL SLUG Bundle: Easily the most insatiable coin-eaters of the bunch, METAL SLUG 1, 2, 3, and X are still just as fun as you remember them from these blessed times. They all come sporting GOG Galaxy support complete with leaderboards, and -with the exception of METAL SLUG 2- both local and online multiplayer functionalities.

Fighting Classics Bundle: These games' legacy is made up of fierce combos, brutal takedowns, and lots of broken controllers: FATAL FURY SPECIAL, SAMURAI SHODOWN 2, SAMURAI SHODOWN V, THE LAST BLADE, THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2000, and THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2002 CLASSIC. Are you up for a rematch? We thought so!

Arcade Games Bundle: The collection would not be complete without these lesser known but equally addictive hidden gems: BLAZING STAR, BASEBALL STARS 2, KING OF THE MONSTERS, SHOCK TROOPERS, and TWINKLE STAR SPRITES.

Get each game individually for -50% or together with its bundle for 75%.
These discounts will last until June 6, 1PM UTC.

NOTE: Make sure to check each game's individual store page for details on their GOG Galaxy supported features.

Check this my post :)
The ports are perfectly fine unless you know the games in and out, people are hyperventilating.

Where the hell is the Last Blade 2?
Just rechecked. I am a bit sad that there is no King of Fighters 98. Like 98 is the best! Also if you guys got a deal with SNK, Please please please pleas please bring over KoF 98UM and 02UM. those two games are the best! I guess I will just have to be content with Samurai Shodown 2 and last blade as of now then.
Great addition !!! :D

Always liked 1 more than 2.
I used to play these games on the neo geo emulator, I have all neo-geo games, back when these games were abandonware. [even MAME implmented neo-geo emulation]

I have to say, I am a bit surprised Windows XP is not supported for these games.
Anyway, good move to bring console games here, I support it.
Cor blimey, sniff that. Smells like gaming history!

About the Metal Slug games on Linux:

All 4 games use the DotEmu port, which seems to be the same used in the Humble Bundle versions, the executable for all games is in 64Bit. Performance of each game varies - in heavy action areas it tends to stutter a bit and fps tanks for a few seconds, especially in Metal Slug 2, however they're all still perfectly playable.

As for game save, you can save whenever you want but there is only 1 save file.

That said, I haven't tested the roms with another emulator,

I hope this answers some questions :-)
Soooo, since nobody answered my question before - can 2 players play the Metal Slug games on one keyboard with this release? What about the fighting games?

Elmofongo: Does the Metal Slug GOG versions have Infinite Continues or Save States?

Ixamyakxim: I think you actually have to buy an adapter for your PC in order to insert quarters ;)

I wish I could find out, but for some reason they don't want to repackage some of their best games on PC. Kind of like Capcom dumping Alpha 2 and running for the hills.
Now we need the Galaxy multiplayer feature available for those masterpieces! :)

Kind of wish they'd bring samurai shodown 1,3 and 4 to PC.
This is cool. I love graphics of Neo Geo games. Metal Slug especially holds up well.
