Well gotta make up for those comrade coupons somehow. The absurd regional pricing model continues with no rational method or logic applied in those calculations as always. Yet some people have a problem with the very vocal minority here expressing their distaste for these unfair industry standard practices now and then. Instead suggesting that things will magically get better in this regard without making any noise and by just voting with wallets. :)

So true. Annexing Crimea doesn't come cheap, after all.

IAmSinistar: In a nutshell, yes.

Out of shared disgust, I've decided to join the "expatriate" movement here and change my locality.
Any suggestions for a good place I can move to?

Getting a low percentage is still better than getting nothing.
That is probably the gist of it all. If you want to have low prices too you must threaten them with getting nothing, only then will they give you low prices. So not buying or pirating seems like the only obvious ways out.

I still wonder though if the regional prices have a strong correlation with average purchase power and sales taxes in the regions or if it is more like a big lottery and some or just unlucky. Judging by the higher prices for Ukraine than for Russia it is probably not a very tight relation. One day I want to calculate it.

I'd say your current locale is pretty self-contained already. But if you're looking for new climes, perhaps the tax haven of the Cayman Islands will suit you?

I chose the Pitcairn Islands simply because of their history with the HMS Bounty. And the fact that they are nicely remote and pretty desolate.

Christmas Island sounds nice.

Btw, isn't it nice that there are so many locations to choose from. Each of us can have his or her own island. :)

I wish there was an option for Rock Islands, sounds the most appealing right now.

I'm torn between Howland Island and Baker Island.

So many islands, I smell mutiny!

That is a nice choice. I was looking for the South Sandwich Islands (AKA South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands), but didn't find a distinct entry for that. I do like your island choice, though. Say hi to Alan for me. ;)

Rock Islands would be cool. For your listed choices, I would prefer Howland Island. Sounds a bit like it got its name from someone landing there and going "How is there land way out here?". :D

EDIT: A shame that the Galapagos Islands aren't a distinct offering, as that would have been my first pick. But I can recommend the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, they are a biodiversity hotspot as well.

Thank you. I think it was a perfect place to stay during Insomnia sale. ;)

Yes, I was also disappointed to not find the Galapagos Islands. Initially I was looking for a place that meets all three conditions: remote, uninhabited and sovereign/ unclaimed, but that proved too much to ask even though locale is a purely decorative bit for a good while now.

Cause for celebration?
Two games released today without regional pricing...

Yay, time for a new list. :P

BTW: When did "LUMINO CITY" lose regional pricing?
I remember it did have it but since the insomnia promo, I don't get any notice about "store credit" for it.
The price is $19.99 which looks normal (although too expensive).

Lumino City only has (and had) a more expensive price in UK.

It is indeed a red-letter day in that regard. Nice to take a break for it for once. And two games I want, too, which makes it all the sweeter.
