Dammit, I actually wanted to buy that one :D.
I don't know what kind of hold Russia has over GOG, but this is just freaking ridiculous now. It's like every new release comes with a Comrade Coupon.

Is this policy still on? If so, what holds GOG to do the same?

Can we reach 100 games by the end of the year? Let's see...

Still in effect. As for GOG? Who knows, it might end up happening along the road.

If we do, I fully expect The 100th Monkey Effect to kick in and suddenly make all games regionally priced.

Should that happen, I fully expect the GOG site to start some heavy malfunctioning. You don't apply a massive change to over 800+ games and expect a smooth sail. Not on GOG, at least.

Funny you should say this, as I was wondering how much of this is also GOG's doing. I remember them saying (I think it was in 2013, perhaps 2012) that their presence in the Russian market is essentially non-existent, and that they (of course) wanted to change it. Perhaps they're 'encouraging ' pubs and devs to offer these ridiculously low prices as part of their strategy to get a piece of the pie.

Considering how those games have about the same Russian price on Steam, I doubt so.
I'm pretty sure that every new game in the future will come with the Russian discount. GOG wants to make money in Russia and so they have to match the price of their competitors (especially Steam). And to be honest, I can understand them (which doesn't mean that I think that such a big discount for this particular country is right).
From MaGog's logs for 14 February:

This a first! A change in the countries forming a region!

Two countries that until now belonged to the "Central and South America" region (which "enjoys" prices lower by about 25% for 41 games) have now moved to the "Rest of the World" region (which "enjoys" the default price for all games).

The two countries:
* Cuba (CU)
* Venezuela, Bolivarian Republic of (VE)

Very interesting choice, given the political nature of these two specific countries.
Indeed, that's weird.
But hey, I'm sure the new sort-of-partnership with the United States makes Cuba a better place for everyone, right? :D

Weird indeed. I wonder what's the rationale ( or narrative) behind this. If it was linked to the geopolitical specificity of these 2 countries, how comes the current apparent "archvilain" gets a huge discount ?
