Grargar: Well, the thread remained undisturbed for 7 months, before the updates became frequent. Call it a grace period, if you will.
Or if one is feeling less charitable, that span was Phase One of the Master Plan. Sort of how archvillains will try the deadly bacillus on a small town before going global with it. But they're on my shelf. How the heck does that work? p_O

Truly, GOG is an engineering marvel. As a programmer I wouldn't imagine that the systems would be so separate that I could view a gamecard, purchase the game, and see it on my shelf, all while it's not part of GOG's catalogue.
Kudos to the software team. -_-

I believe our game libraries use the old (pre-August) system, hence they are not dependent on the new catalogue.
I PM'd Judas about it a few hours ago.

When I'm feeling cranky, I end up thinking that nothing ever works here.

mrkgnao: You can buy the games since they have game pages, but they are absent from all catalogue-related features (e.g. new games tab, games on sale tab, search feature, gogmixes apparently).

Awesome technology. It's no wonder everything runs so smoothly. I believe our game libraries use the old (pre-August) system, hence they are not dependent on the new catalogue.

Well, it's no Groupees, but a peek under the hood at GOG can still give one serious pause at times.

mrkgnao: I'm still in awe from GOG's scheme that whenever a game is temporarily given away as a freebie (e.g. Age of Wonders last week) it becomes an "upcoming" game (i.e. marked as coming "soon", its price unknown, and its rating and reviews inaccessibly hidden behind a promising "Reviewing and rating will be enabled as soon as the game is released").
I'm mostly in awe of the constant bug that occurs when GOG removes a game from sale and it ends up being removed from the users' libraries. Equally in awe about bonus content that is removed from sale and also from the users' accounts.PaterAlf

Guess I should learn to check Magog before I buy any games now. Without it it's nearly impossible to recognize regional priced games any longer. But to be honest, this kind of regional pricing isn't the worst one, so I don't feel to bad about buying the game (would be better though when they give a discount to really poor countries though and not always just to the kings of piracy).

HypersomniacLive: I guess then that everything's going according to plan on GOG's end - no one gets surprised anymore, few complain, and more get tricked by the lack of mention of the price blurb and buy them. Wonder how PaterAlf will feel when he finds out.
