I know this is on the publisher, but that doesn't make it any less disappointing. It's unfortunate that even GOG couldn't persuade Konami to play fair (speaking as a native Japanese.)

I agree. Of all the practices I dislike on GOG, this is probably the one that pains me most, even though it does not affect me personally (yet).

I can only assume Konami did this because China is the world capital of software piracy. South Korea doesn't have that reputation, so that is a bit strange.

It could be that Konami has other deals in Asian countries preventing them from a release there. It's the only explanation that makes sense to me, esp. for Japan.
China is special anyway.

When I saw them adding German as an official language I knew region locks were coming. I'm just glad they're not as strictly enforced as on other platforms.

Your assumption is illogical. Preventing someone from buying the game that person wants to play is only forces that person to find a way to play the game by other means which are often limited to piracy when it comes to digital games.

Since whole region in blocked it's very simple - another case of licensing issues. Just like Super Robot Wars situation. Rest of the world outside SEA region got only OG games just because licensing hell with music, robots etc licensed exclusively to a lot of different companies.
Someone in another thread (can't find it right now) said that the games had different soundtracks in their Asian releases. If true, this could be the explanation - music licensing issues again.
edit: just noted this was already pointed out :p

List should be up to date again

sidenote: Dark Forces has been removed from the index, hopefully it can be removed from here soon.

And while they're at it, they should unblock Rise of the Triad (the original) and Mortal Kombat 1-3, as well.

Dying Light - Volkan Combat Armor Bundle [DLC] is blocked in Germany (DE) and Japan (JP).
As of now, seven Dying Light DLCs (plus the game) are blocked in these countries, while six are not.

Silent Hill 4: The Room is now blocked in China (CN), Japan (JP) and South Korea (KR).
This has happened today. The game wasn't blocked throughout the weekend.

This will be my last report of blocked games. Best wishes to you all.
