The bug that crashes the game when shooting is still not fixed. Tested this for the rifle, submachine gun and shotgun. Crash occurs immediately. Everything else seems to be fixed, but the main bug seems to still be present.

I unfortunately have no fix for the GOG version, but if you have the original CDs or ISOs, you can use this custom installer. Then you have to lock the game to 60FPS to prevent some actions and animations being sped up (easiest with a G-Sync monitor) as some of them are based on framerate and back then, it wasn't expected that the game would be run at anything beyond that.

Just tested all this on Windows 10. GOG version crashes and if I install from CDs using the custom installer and limit the framerate, everything works flawlessly.

Also an important notice: don't set a resolution higher than 1920x1080.

welcome to the sad abomination that gog turned into since it started back in 2008. the only thing that matter for gog is profit to please its greedy shareholders nowdays. if you're lucky they may fix it, but so far this doesn't happen anymore. just try to get your money back (via cc chargeback for example) and do not buy games on here again, thats the safest way to avoid getting scammed by gog!
