I was wondering if GOG will refund the difference between a regular purchased game then the game being on sale?

For example... If I purchase 2 games at $20.00 each. Total is $40.00. A week later, GOG has the 2 games on sale for 50% off making them $10.00 each. Will GOG refund me the difference of $20.00? If so, how long do I have to request the difference?

Thank you...
I‘m pretty sure that your refund will always be the price you paid. If you paid 20USD you will get 20USD refunded, even if the game costs 10USD at the moment of refund.

You'll get refunded what you originally paid. One of reasons you can select when requesting a refund is that the games are on sale/cheaper at that moment. Better to ask for a wallet refund though, which is usually granted in the same day, to buy the games back at the discounted price.
Think about it the other way around. People would buy a game while it is discounted, then yould ask for a full price refund. That's not gonna happen.
No, the amount has to be the same as in the original transaction.
I think you guys are are getting this wrong... OP desn't want a refund and is concerned about getting only the sale price refunded. OP bought a game at full price and now it is on sale, so he's asking if GOG would refund the difference.

From most cases I have seen, you won't get refunded the difference. Instead, you'll get refunded the price that you paid, then the games will be pulled from your account and you'll have to rebuy them again (at the lower price). As per general store policy, you'll have 30 days from the day of purchase to ask for a refund.

Well, he needs to refund the full game and then buy the discounted version. If he accepts store credits, he will get the full price almost instantly. Cash might take a while.

Or he can ask nicely and hope for the best.

They ARE quite helpful (but currently buried under a mountain of support requests). When Mafia 3 came out, I first bought the normal version and only saw later that there was a edition with all DLCs included. So I bought that premium edition and could refund the normal version even if I already downloaded it.

As others have stated, the short answer is... kind of. There is a legit refund for the game being on discount (within 30 days of original purchase) wherein they will refund the full purchase price of the game. If you ask for a refund and ask for cash, you may not get your refund in time. If you ask for wallet funds, you will have to spend all the remaining money in store, but you should get it almost immediately.

So it's possible to do, but it is a little roundabout to get there.

It is annoying when you buy something and then the next day or week it's on discount.

Steam took the approach where you'd get credit of the difference when the sale happened if it was within a certain window, thus removing annoying 'refund the game so i can re-buy it at discount' problems. I'm sure GoG can take a similar stance, or request wallet credit for the difference. I don't know.

Worst case you can re-purchase the game as a gift (at discount), request a refund on the original, then when that goes through redeem the discounted one... Not a preferred method of handling things.

edit: Glancing up i see the last three posts are more or less the same... oh well.

Thanks for the help and the posts... I just wanted to know if GOG would be cool about giving me the discount difference or would they refuse?

I figure I could just return the game, get store credit and rebuy it at the discounted price...
