Hi everybody! I don't know if this question has been made already, but i couldn't find it, so let's start :)

I bought "Blood and Wine DLC" Steam CD Key some days ago because i want to play The Witcher 3 for my second time with all DLCs, but after i did it I realized that TW3 is on GoG platform and not on Steam xD (I bought the phisycal copy of TW3 at day one last year, so GOG is my default platform). Of course Steam told me i couldn't even install that DLC cause i miss original game on my library :P

Question is: is there any way to redeem that code on GOG or play it in some way? Or i just have to buy it again on GOG?

Ask steam for a refund.
Then buy it on gog :D. Might not be as cheap unless you wait, though.

But yeah, no way to "transfer" the DLC on to your gog game.

If he bought a Steam CD Key he didn't buy the DLC directly on Steam (he also would've seen a warning about not owning the game it belongs to then). Getting a refund for a CD-key isn't quite as easy usually, depending where he bought it.

Do steam CD keys of anything CD Projekt makes exist? I'd assume that the keys would only be redeemable on gog.

Does seem really unlikely, would make more sense if he bought a Steam Gift off some grey reseller. Doubt Steam keys of W3 or expansions are being sold.

No, but I'm curious how you managed to buy DLC for a game you don't own on Steam or GOG as both platforms prevent you from buying DLC if you don't own the base game on the same platform? You'll have to get a refund on Steam first, which should be possible as Steam lets you return things if they have been played for 2 hours or less, so "never" due to not owning the base game should qualify. This presumes that you actually bought it _on_ Steam and not from somewhere else, in which case you'd have to go to where you actually bought it and find out what their specific return policy is.

There is presently no way to convert or redeem a Steam code onto the GOG platform however. Need to buy games directly from GOG to redeem them here with authenticity.

Unless it's part of the Connect program or redeeming your bought games (probably physical) to a digital library, then no probably not...

Directly, no. However, someone who has a retail GOG key of either expansion can exchange it for a Steam key via this page and then sell the Steam key via G2A/Kinguin/ebay/etc.

I bought The Witcher 2 on G2A.com, but couldn't activate it on steam. I found out that I had to activate it on GOG.com, but now i can't play the game, please help me out.

Don't buy from shady gray market third party sellers looking to sell you keys they bought with stolen cards. It's a risk inherent in using sites like G2A.

Does that mean I cannot play The Witcher 2?
