can any one recommendation a suitable joystick for games like Wing Commander 3 with a budget of up to $100?

I think Wing Commander 3 supported the "Z axis" ie. rotation (roll axis) on a flightstick, so I would select a flightstick with such ability. I think the both aforementioned flightsticks have the Z rotation in the stick, as well as e.g. the old MS Sidewinder Precision 2, which I also have.

I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Basic, but works fine.

I third the suggestion of the Logi Extreme 3D Pro.

One that fits your hand and has the necessary buttons.

Thanks for all the responses, unfortunately, for some reason I couldn't see any response when I checked back so ,ended up going with the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas 4 Flight Stick - PlayStation 4/PC.


But I find it a bit difficult to finely adjust for enemy fighters coming straight at me - too much pressure and it flicks too far, not enough and of course it doesn't move. I have tried adjusting the resistance but it hasn't helped.

I came on here to search and now I can see the responses - my apologies for the delay in acknowledging the resposnes.

Do any of the recommendations above lend themselves to finer steering adjustment or is it must par for the course with game joysticks?

Out of interest, I tried a gaming console controller, keyboard and mouse and these made it much, much harder to steer - perhaps it's just me as I'm not used to this type of controller.

I suppose you have the latest driver installed?

yeah, like tie fighter is so much more modern than WC3...

i see basic english is too hard for you , tie fighter OR!!! something more modern
this doesnt mean tie fighter is modern

and how is this not on topic? instead of playing wc3 he just play a better game , this topic is about wc3 or he would just mention wanting a new joystick
