thats what i mean with the fact that some 'big' companies cant get their things done properly

Maybe GamersGate is in the process of winding down? It's no secret that they've been struggling of late with trying to justify their existence, and they've also taken a massive bashing in the wake of the #gamergate media frenzy.

Seems that the GamersGate.com domain is owned by some Russian company called "Simos Mediacom" and was updated on 1 November 2015. Prior to that it was owned by "Gamersgate AB". That's the risk you take when you buy digital (and especially so when you don't back up your games). People don't "mind" online DRM until it bites them on the arse. Amazing how people don't seem to understand problems until they're actually confronted with them.

I would take it as a good heads up, if you use these rental software suppliers, prepare to lose your product and cash. Even the monster which is steam will one day fall.

well lucky for me i have all the games on backup drive :D
plus 90% is drm free casualgames and 10 have a simple key that activates from the developers website

check the GG tutor: and this is a small amount there are tons of it, complaints and many more, it said before it was a swedish company, as far as i know sweden is european country , well more or less anyways so i dont get it why they are so difficult and there tos is also a laugh.

GG has some very bad reviews, loads of complaints all over the internet.
The funny thing is the 'mods' (the volunteers) overthere are always trying to sweettalk, and calm the users for the problems the paid staff is responsible for, i guess they dont take their job serious and the user/customer are the ones that are in trouble.
Funny that these kind of actions are allowed, they do get the customers cash but dont deliver any real helpfull support.

that's good news. I don't want to see these guys go. If I have to get a game that's only on steam, I go to them.

they seem to have loads of 'server work' all the time, if you compare all their downtimes compared to any other gamingsite
i guess they might have the most downtimes, just take some time and look up all complaints and downtimes using google... you'll be amazed how many complaints there are.

I think its because it looks like they dont use much effort in 'restoring' / fixing the problems, as a commercial site you should be up 99% at least or not?

Maybe its because they are way understaffed in terms of paid employees, they do run alot on free volunteering staff.
Whatever excuses they may have, if you run a commercial site with games be it physical copies or digital i assume you do have a sort of 'commitment' to the many customers you have ?

true, they do have much cheaper steam offers, but.... sadly they arent very customer friendly, some , if not lots of users had to wait way to long before they got : refunds, a correct working serial and many more issues... just google on it, there is loads of room for improvement there, the paid staff should be more friendly for example.

other similar sites are also rated way better and higher, just look these up.

Ow, and the downloads dont seem to work, you can get a small loader but then the thing wont access and seems to error... so i guess its a good thing to keep backups of the drm free games.

I stopped buying things from GamersGate a little while back when they left me waiting for a few weeks for a serial key. I guess they are no where near as professional as I first thought.
I hope I have all my games from there backed up. Need to double check.

you're right , yes i made a typo in this part :D..... my mistake,
i was not referring to non working keys, just pasted the text in wrong part and context, but as you say: the keys always work right, thats 100% true.

Only steamkeyones i have were fallout classics , but that was before gog got the fallout aswell, now that i have gog i can leave the steam versions for what it is, and if needed i can redownload it from gog.

The reason why i have no problems is because i only buy the new and old DRM Free casual games, i mixed that up with a former post about steam, on steam i have little games because 99% needs steam, i joined steam after reading all the posts , i got curious an joined it to see what its like.
So the mixup bout keys is for the steam part where i have only a few cheap games, on GG i have drm free games.

DomainTools.com list it as having NETWORK SOLUTIONS INC as registrar while whois.net has ASCIO TECHNOLOGIES INC listed as registrar.

This could be because of whois informaton not having been replicated properly. Or a case of two different sets of registrations for the same domain which could cause this behaviour depending on what DNS service you're using.

I think I have a backup of sorts of my GamersGate games. The DRM free ones I have a saved installer, and the other ones already have the key registered.

One thing people seem to not mention, is that while a lot of what they sell were keys or games you could find elsewhere, they were really interesting to just take a dive through. There were tons of weird games you didn't see published other places. Whether they were good or not is a completely different question. For instance I never knew so many weird simulators existed (Road works simulator, steamroller simulator, woodcutter simulator and so on).
