OtakuSparrow: Hello,

I've spent some time looking over GOG forums for an answer but can't quite find a topic that gives me a direct answer so I would appreciate if somebody can help me with this one.

Basically, I always go over to a relative's house over the Christmas/New Year holidays and I thought about bringing some of my games with me so we can play together.

Now, my question is, how can I achieve the following:
* Install the games on their PC
* Transfer my save files
* lock other people from playing these games when I'm not there

Ideally, being able to login into MY GOG Galaxy to sort of "claim" the games as mine own and then logging out would be nice, but it doesn't seem like there is such an option; so I take it the only thing I can do is install the game, copy the save files from an USB for example, and then uninstall the game once I am about to leave?

Lord_Kane: 1. You can easily reinstall the games via galaxy or offline installers on another PC
2. If a game supports galaxy cloud then you can use Galaxy, but a USB drive might be better for some.
3. sadly no, you will have uninstall the galaxy + the games before you leave your relatives place.

OtakuSparrow: Yep, like everyone's been doing it forever, whether they're over at friend or got assigned to frozen rear of the world with stone age hardware without net access. Why would you want anything else, that would prolly be invasive or inconvenient as hell to boot?

OtakuSparrow: I'm just the kind of guy who like the convenience of a simple click to start something.

OtakuSparrow: I guess having a small laptop for such cases I can carry like a "console" is an option.

Chasmancer: I have a bunch of laptops for that precise reason, as well as for venturing somewhere there won't be a PC at all. It comes with the downside of small screen and not being that good at running more demanding modern games, though.

Swissy88: "An USB" makes sense because you're supposed to use 'an' before a vowel, but pronunciation, vowel sound, has precedence.
USB is pronounced 'you-es-bee', 'you' doesn't start with a vowel or have a vowel sound.

Another example is 'an honor'. Honor, is pronounced 'on-er', which has a vowel sound despite starting with an H.

One purpose of 'an' is to smooth out the words to avoid a glottal stop or alveolar tap. 'A honor' would be 'uh-on-er' which requires a glottal stop between 'uh-on'. It's more clunky and obvious compared to 'An USB' but the same principle.

OtakuSparrow: Well, I just wanted to avoid constantly re-installing the game every time I go over lol, and leaving it installed as is would allow them to play it without me (which isn't a problem to me, but that is against the rules)

eric5h5: Just delete the exe then, and leave everything else. Copy the exe back when you go over next.
