Hi, i was wondering does the latest patch 1.51 for wolfenstein return to castle supports the gog version? i know mdos support it and what about RealRTC mod 2.2?

is doom 3 on here yet? the original version? what about quake 4? As for wolf 3d, do mods support that one? what about the original doom games?
https://www.gog.com/game/quake_4

Doom 3 is only the Doom 3: BFG Edition.

No knowledge about your other questions, sorry.

Wolfenstein RtCW is patched to version 1.41 according to Galaxy.
Doom 3 BFG and Quake IV are on gog.com.

Ultimate Doom and Doom II + Master Levels are sold here on GOG. If you're looking for anything that aren't those versions, I don't think they're sold digitally. You might try your luck with eBay for the original disks/etc. but just expect to pay significantly more for those. I know John Romero auctioned his originals off through there not long ago but I imagine others with copies are trying to flip them for a quick buck now that the retro boom is in swing.

As for non-BFG Doom 3, read through the Doom series forum here on GOG. There's a thread in there where someone has uploaded the pk4 files for the original version and the expansion so they can be played in a source port. Definitely not legal but since the thread is still up, telling you to look for it shouldn't be troubling.

I highly recommend playing the original Doom 3, it looks and plays better. I have it on Steam, but I'm sure it's "out there" and if you own the BFG version I wouldn't worry about it morally.

I recently played Return to Castle Wolfenstein from GOG with the fan patch 1.42d and it worked great on Windows 10 at 4k resolution.

The originals here are the DOS versions bundled with DOSBox. After installation, you can just use a source port like GZDoom to run the custom maps or total conversions of your liking.

1. TBF I would always play the originals.....cutting out stuff to sell it in germany or to appease the red cross never sat well with me.

2. Eh, if one owns the originals or even the BFG I see no harm in it.

oh i see gotcha. im guessing dosbox is not compatible with mods. well i guess i just stick with gzdoom then for mods for the original doom games.

Someone else already covered it but you are free to take the WAD files from Ultimate Doom, etc. and use them in any source port you like. If you stick to the DOSBox setup then you won't be able to run certain mods since a lot of them are made with features that aren't in the default DOSBox configurations the games are currently sold in.

As to what thread to look for as far as the Doom 3 pk4 files go, it should be the thread titled dhewm3.

Also, do yourself a favor and ignore the word "Doom" in the title. The game plays far better if you forget that it's allegedly a sequel to Doom 2 set in the same universe.

Wait.....isn't it a reboot of the series? o.0

(Like Doom 2016 or whatever year that one was)
