Greetings!

I did a search on GoG on the subject but couldn't find anything, of course that doesn't include my IQ might not have been good enough in order to actually find the information, lol.

Anyway, on to the question.

I have gotten emails from GoG about games being discontinued and as far as I understand, it means the game is no longer being sold due to some reason. However, the email only shows which game is discontinued and then tell me I can find more out about it by looking on my wishlist. So I go there and see, nothing? The game is still there, I can still buy it. Nothing has changed.
I got a email during this Summer Sale about Evil Genius being discontinued but when I go to the GoG site I can still see the game amongst the summer sale games and with a discount at that!
So what's the deal with the discontinued thing? (pun not intended lol) I still see it and can still buy it so yeah? Anyone who can shred light on that?

These emails inform you which games from your wishlist are discounted, not discontinued. It means they're on sale. It has nothing to do with removing them from GOG :)
GOG tries to warn us ahead of time if a game will be discontinued. Once it actually is, they don't sell it any more, because they're not allowed to. However, if you have bought it already, you will continue to have it in your library.

It's a heads up - "Hey, if you want to have this in your library, you should get it now while you can."

EDIT: <laugh> This was a mixup of wording? Discounted vs discontinued? Sorry. Should have looked into it before replying, I guess.

Um, could it be that the e-mail you received says that a game on your wishlist is being disCOUNTed instead of being disCONTINUed? GOG doesn't send e-mails when games are being discontinued. They do send e-mails though if games on your wishlist are being discounted if you chose that option in your settings.
I never even noticed that discounted and discontinued were so similar O_o

I went and checked my email after reading your post and ta-da! You were right, it said discounted not discontinued (those words are too similar, it confuses with poor Wistala's IQ as well as sight)
Well, thanks for clearing that up, hope you can forgive my poor sight as well, lol.

Thanks for the rest of you guys for trying to help too. Much appreciated.

Fairfox: I alwaaays think "discounted" sounds so archaic. Mebbe 'cos English is not teh primary language?
Something was counted earlier, but now it is not longer counted. Ergo, it has been discounted.

Fairfox: Yah, but "counted" meaning "full price" sounds weird, with a CAPITAL WEE.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
