Lucian_Galca: GOGdb lists the latest update date as August 13th, 2018. While that hotfix date is for the 14th.

The dates are rather close and make me wonder if the gog version is missing the hotfix or not. Has anyone played through the gog version and confirmed this I wonder?

Alexim: Yes, I have personally tested it and several other people were already aware of it. The developers are also aware of it, but they have always postponed the arrival of the update to a distant imaginary future.
I figured, just wanted to double check.

Is it possible to do a simple copy/paste of the updated Steam files over the gog version if someone owned both versions?

Hmmm, seems like even the latest Steam version still has some bugs according to this:

That's strange because, if I'm reading things correctly, the patch notes are for v1.4.1 and GOGdb has the latest GOG build at 1.4.1, too. According to SteamDB, there were two updates on 8/11/18 and 8/14/18. It looks like the 1.4.1 update was pushed out on the 11th, while the update on the 14th was to fix only the Vulkan runtime issue (if you read that Steam thread). Those patch notes are for both updates, I think. So, the GOG build should have the 1.4.1 update, but may or may not have the Vulkan runtime fix. I don't own this game, so I can't verify this.

Edit: It looks like the 2nd update was also to fix the Old Power Station bug.

GoG version of Forsaken is outdated and the devs are aware of this problem.

Three years later since the latest update...

"We are working on updating Forsaken on GOG"

Yeah sure I believe you.

It seems even with the hotfix for the Vulkan and level bug, the Steam version still has some issues. Seems like both versions need another fix.

I haven't played through my gog version, but it's confirmed to not have the hotfix by others.

Let's just start a riot until they put it on gog.
I'm serious.
Everyone is fighting and we're getting nothing done, and the real enemy here is id.
Whose with me?
Accordingly to a dev comment the complicated about GOG is that is a DRM Free Store and Quake use Bethesda.net to connect the online part of the game, it's way easier on Steam, the same happen with Doom Unity Ports, so probably even when the game arrive many peope here will be mad about it about some "DRM" on GOG version.
I guess I know which publisher and developer I'm avoiding now.
Bethesda screws up everything (Quake), sure, but not updating a game that is already here (Forsaken) is just as shameful.
Not a good sign when there no spec date.

I'm sure the Bethesda.net stuff is what they have to work on to bring it here, yes. A large part of the issue with bringing things to GOG a lot of the time is removing client or account based aspects of games that aren't even there for DRM anymore, but it's just how the game was built to function.

Everyone acts like offline is on the way out and whatnot but GOG's singleplayer library is very much hindered by their commitment to it, whether people want to give them credit for it or not.
I asked Bethesda support about what's going on but they are not giving out any information. "Unfortunately we don't have an update on this." was the only answer I got.

Just think of all the MONEY you're going to lose!

You know its funny,

People are raging on the Steam forum for the game about how it's been "abandoned" by beth/id since they promised updates to fix some serious issues while People here are raging that the update isnt out yet here, which is why the GOG version of the update is delayed, since it makes sense to release the fixed build as well over here, so they dont get repeated bug reports.

Kex Team is just taking advantage of the fact that Beth/Id cleared them to make a patch in the first place as they never got the go ahead to make one for Doom 64 and the Kex team isnt sure that Beth will clear them for a second patch.

Just chill people its happening you will all soon get to enjoy dimension of the machine and all the other benefits of Quake Enhanced.

(I will be seriously sad if this get downvoted to hell)

Asking Bethseda support about anything is a waste of time.

LOL, a free update to a decades old game they probably bought for $5 or less years ago and they're complaining about the speed of patches? Lordy. Also I played the first 2 episodes and didn't notice anything bad.

Anyway, same applies to having patience for the GOG version.

I bet you that when it releases here (anything faster than 6 months I'd consider a small miracle if it's feature-complete - if they remove content they might as well release it right away, since the Steam version is already DRM-free), it will be gutted in some way. Missing Add Ons, missing crossplay, possibly missing multiplayer.

I'll gladly be proven wrong on this, but I'm calling it as I see it.
