karnak1: That, in my opinion, would be a good deal!
In fact I wouldn't even mind waiting a full year for a AAA game if that meant it'd be forever DRM-free. But I'm suspect since I usually never buy a game when it comes out. I prefer waiting until all the DLCs and patches have been released.

tfishell: One issue for GOG would be that devs might not want to implement Galaxy features so long after release. But this plan might also be good for us, since it'd be harder for a game to become out-of-date (and thus added to frozen's infamous GOGMix) if all the main content is already there.
What do you mean by "Galaxy features"?
Achievements & stuff? Personally I'm one of the guys who don't care about such stuff. I only care if the game's 100% stable and if it has a working multiplayer feature (I don't play multiplayer games - aside from Gwent - but I know lots of people are into it).

Honestly I wouldn't mind waiting 6 months for a game (or more) if its release on GOG means it's a perfectly stable and functional product.

I don't care either, and probably many forum-ites also don't care, but GOG does which is why I said it'd be an issue *for GOG*.

Well Q&A is now closed for questions, let's hope we'll get some answers soon. They kept it in the dark for too long. :p

Sorry guys, there was a lot of questions (which is a good thing) and the BizDev Department needs time to go through them and they will be busy next week so it's going to take a few weeks. Thanks to those who asked questions and participated. I hope we can do this again with another department in the future.

EDIT: Speaking as the mod who posted this Q&A on /r/GOG in case anyone was wondering... :P

The real reason is that in 3 weeks when they answer the question
"When is Oblivion being released?" they can say

Today!

YES!
Shit, I shoulda asked about the chances of Blade Runner appearing since the new movie is coming out. :P There were a ton of questions I had, honestly, and I probably asked too many anyway.

Count me in. I typically hate DRM, but if it's just to protect the game's initial sales window, where the DRM will see it's eventual removal at a later point to give the customer back their ownership of the game, that is an acceptable compromise. And, I'm exactly like you. I like my games fully patched with all it's bugs fixed, plus the full range of content completely released, where I can play the game as a whole. So, I tend to wait till a later time to buy.

You know, I kinda appreciate GOG now more than ever. With everyone, both indies and Triple A's hopping on the Denuvo train, GOG is the only place left where you can really own the games that you paid for. More generous support of GOG, by browsing and buying more games that catch one's eye here would certainly be up my list.

HunchBluntley: You're talking about OBLIVION, man---I've taken the liberty of adding the appropriate amount of punctuation to your post for you. Don't let this oversight happen again.

Thanks;)
