Am I the only one who's slightly disturbed at the seemingly minimal amount of activity going on in there? I assumed the GOG Reddit community was way bigger than the forum, but it actually seems SMALLER.

Why?

Reddit is social media... most of Gogs followers are fairly anti-social media.

I'm fairly indifferent to social media but I don't use Reddit, just never really got the point of it.

Look at how many Facebook and Twitter followers they've got.
May not be ACTIVE, sure, but those numbers are mad high in comparison to this place. I wonder what it is about Reddit that makes it so much smaller?

Yeah, but that's just random people really. Not a community who discuss things etc.

Hitting like or follow is easy, particularly with Facebook and Twitter's algorithms these days you probably won't even see half the posts from pages you follow. But actually engaging and being a part of something requires a lot more effort.

I don't comment on most of the posts (hardly any really) of the pages I follow on Facebook. I rarely ever respond to tweets, I imagine most other users are fairly similar.

Reddit on the other hand (as far as I understand) is more forum like. There is no particular 'like' equivalent, so it requires much more effort to be an active member than it does to be a Facebook follower.

Because what kind of questions can you ask the BizDev department? Most of the questions will not be answerable since the negotiations are ongoing, and NDAs do exist.
If you are talking about the GOG reddit in general, no idea if it's less lively than other subreddits, don't really visit it that much.

Ah, that makes more sense. Didn't think about that aspect. I was talking about the user count of the GOG subreddit in general.

I've passed the link to one of the Journalists at PC Gamer, they hopefully will put up an article which can put more traffic that way.

As for low population on reddit, it's more like the internet of the late 90's early 00's. It requires effort and a understanding to use.

I think I'll x-post this to r/games since that has much more traffic too. GOG's subreddit just hasn't been advertised that much anyway; the reddit link below doesn't go to the subreddit but just searches reddit for GOG.com links - https://www.reddit.com/domain/gog.com/

I don't use Reddit (still not even exactly sure what it is) and I honestly have no idea what would I ask that department? "Hey, so when are we getting the other Star Trek games?" I'm sure they'd give me an exact date :P
