I just want to go on record there are a great deal number of people that are perfectly happy the game is First Person. I understand seeing a mass freakout by a bunch of entitled crybabies can be disheartening, so this is my way of telling CDPR, don't second guess yourself. You're doing great, and I am very excited for Cyperpunk. I am happy it's first person. Don't sell out to the Outrage Committee.

People are desperate to find something to complain about. You're never going to please some people. They are determined to find something to bitch about. Just keep up the good work, make the game the way you want to make it, and those people will swallow their pride and buy it anyway.

Thank you for the tact and diplomacy with which you've approached the situation, I am sure that your sage words will soothe all quarrels.

To be fair, his intention to provide a counter-force to balance things isn't exactly a bad one. Unfortunately, via the internet opinions can be blown out of proportions rather easily due to social media, streaming services and general forums/website coverage. We have seen already that complaining loud enough can work, so it would be awful to see a company changing what they are doing (or getting discouraged) because of a small amount of users that think they are entitled to a TPP (at least the ones suffering from motion sickness in FPP have a valid reason but they are in the clear minority in that angry mob).

I thought there was indeed a third-person option and the game could be played either way. Now I'm a bit confused. Are you saying it's first person only or that you're just happy that it has that option?

It's mostly first person. Apparently driving is (or can be) third person, and some cutscenes, but gameplay and combat is strictly first person. And I don't have a problem with this.

Okay, that puts things into perspective.

This post would probably be more effective on the CDPR forums.

And no, I won't buy it anyway. :P

Me either. I've spent no amount of time in my life looking at the back of myself as I go about my day, and have no particular desire to do so in games.

Of the first person variety, I might add.

It's reticlulous.
I like that its First Person, feels way more immersive to me. For something like the Witcher it made sense to go with TPP as sword fighting in first person always feels kinda off, but for a Shooter/RPG hybrid first person works much better I think.
Personally id prefer if they went the original Deus Ex/Half-Life route and skip the 3rd person perspective for conversations as well, never liked that about the newer Deus Ex games (or when taking cover/climbing ladders)

EDIT: Oh. DX had third person dialogues too. Well, guess it wasn't too bad ;)

My flannel is worn out, I'm told that you can help.
Honestly, being in first-person makes me even more interested...I love me some first-person perspective.

^ I didn't even know this was a thing (assuming it's even that and not just a tiny number of overly-vocal console kiddies crying out for attention with 'manufactured outrage"'on Twitch again). Where was all the "outrage" over the more recent Doom, Wolfenstein, Prey, Bioshock, Dishonored, Deus Ex, etc, FPS camera perspective titles? Or upcoming ones like Metro: Exodus? Or is it based on the false belief that "FPS = 1st person but all new non-isometric RPG 'must' all = 3rd person" (something long disproven with Elder Scrolls & Fallout games).

There are very few games to me that feel better in 3rd (over the shoulder) vs 1st person, with the latter always ending up more immersive (and the former nearly all suffering from clunky camera control in narrow corridors). "But... but... Cyberpunk is in 1st person". Good! The success of thousands of well received FPS's over the past 25 years speaks far louder than the tiny "why can't every game everywhere all play exactly like Assassins Creed" crowd does. And well done CDPR for doing something that Ubisoft, EA & Square Enix have failed miserably at over the last decade - actually making new IP...
