SpecShadow: Still waiiting for a Might&Magic X Legacy to make my M&M collection full.
avatar
KruhLatry: I'm also waiting for that one, and for a few spin-offs:

- Might & Magic Heroes VI
- Might & Magic Heroes VII
- Legends of Might and Magic
- Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
- Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes
I'll second this, just for the unpopular MMH, 6 and 7. (for good reasons I heard, but I have a hunch for some of these "mediocre" game).
I would love to get 6 here, since it's only on Ubi's store.
7 is on steam, well not really, you still need an ubi's account, and I bet it runs ubi's launcher. Still better than with 6.
MMH : Clash of heroes might also be something I like.

Otherwise other things that interest me : the also unpopular SF anno titles : 2070 and 2205.

Catventurer: Even though Ubisoft never releases anything new here, the sale is great for people that only joined GOG after the last time Ubisoft games were on sale.
avatar
SargonAelther: Sure, but they could get some money from the existing users as well if they actually released something new. We're not necessarily asking for Valhalla or Mirage either. They could give us AC2 at least, it's 14 years old!

BreOl72: And it would be even greater (for new AND old users) if there were some new (old) Ubisoft games on sale.
You both missed the sarcasm in that post. (Sorry.) Ubisoft games go on sale a lot.

For example, Might and Magic 6 is on sale so much that the 75% off price may as well be the normal price and the current 80% off price is the actual sale price: https://www.gogdb.org/product/1207658788
Was in such a good mood seeing this sale, and more than willing to re-buy Far Cry 3 for nostalgia (can't believe i used Far Cry 3 and nostalgia in the same sentence) and AC:Black Flag for the first time! But I guess Ubi "pretty please pirate our games" shit, like usual simply doesn't want to sell anything!
Why does gog even hosts this publisher sales anyway, if there aren't gonna be any good old new releases?

Just checked the wishlists, and guess what? I apparently already voted, who knows how long ago...

Another sale to skip since no more games were released in here since Ubisoft has their own client.
I think the chance is higher Ubisoft pulls all its games off from GOG one day than releasing any further games here.

Oh, I see now. Emphasis on

Which is very often.
I've checked the whole internet and all paid services. The best installers are here. Dear Ubisoft I like your games, still have some ancient CDs/DVDs but when it comes to personal playing those days, I will only buy from GOG.

kultpcgames: New Ubi games here??
Haha, you also think Santa Claus is real, do you?

The least we might get here are - maybe - some beloved Classics. If they are dusted well enough... so in about 20 more years we may see some more Silent Hunter games?? The first installment at least? :-p

I wouldn't mind Anno 1800, either. Even if that one isn't Sci-Fi...

Settlers III: Ultimate Collection needs more keys.

GOG.com: ... this sale is the perfect opportunity to enhance your library with absolute must-haves.
And excuse our French.
+1 to this Dark Messiah of Dark & Magic, gog make it possible ;-)
Dear Ubisoft: Might & Magic X, or GTFO... (yes, I'm tired of them too, sorry).

(at this point I would realistically not even have time/energy to play the X, so I would just buy it... pity I will probably never try that game, I played whole series, some of them several times through)
What amazes me is that despite having been on sale repeatedly without any new game for years, Ubisoft titles still somehow manages to make the bestseller list on GOG's front page every time they go on sale. Is there really that many people on GOG who still hasn't bought those already (excluding those who don't want them, obviously). Or are GOG sales so abysmally low that it takes really little to be a "bestseller" here?

In fact, how come they are so often on sale in the first place? It's been so long since the last new Ubisoft game on GOG, It seems like Ubisoft have totally forgotten about GOG. Can GOG put up these sales without input from Ubisoft? That's seems unlikely. Then again, maybe they can and do so in hope Ubisoft notices the increased sales and release more games here, or just out of spite.

fisk0: If only we could get more Ubisoft titles on GOG. How many years has it been since the last Ubi title came to GOG. Was it in 2019? They've got such a great back catalogue and it's crazy how few of their titles are here.
I agree, but I doubt it's GOG's fault. Pretty much anything newer than they have would require DRM removal, which I bet is the reason.

That thought has crossed my mind many times.

If they are genuine, then imagine how well newer games would sell. Heroes of Might and Magic 3 remains the #1 bestseller of all time on GOG.
I suspect this is all due to modern times, in which money for big companies is becoming increasingly worthless. Small change has no meaning, especially if you have to invest money in advance.

Personally, I think this is completely stupid since companies spend tons of money on marketing and advertising. In comparison, maintaining the classics will at least make money and also spread positive advertising/news in the community for free. There are definitely no big losses to be expected, but maybe it's just not worth it.

However, these realizations will only come when the video game industry takes a nosedive and the subsequent economic tremor in the gaming industry is felt. Then they will look for alternative sources of income. I have a feeling that could be the case in a few years. Especially at Ubi Soft.
