In the 90s I played a game which I thought was Resident Evil, but, since buying
a version for the pc, I'm not sure. I remember a car entering the city; being attacked
and turning over. A lad and a lass (siblings, I believe) emerge on either side, and
you then choose which to play. After fighting off a couple of Zoms you come across
a gunshop. The proprietor is ok, but after you leave and return he tries to eat you.
Kill all Zoms in sight, run like hell and arrive at an old mansion. Never got very far
in the house (killed by Zombie Dobermans, I recall). The game I have now begins
differently, though it looks very similar.
What is the name of the game I was playing? Can anyone help? I'd be very grateful
if someone could. Thanks, David.

Maybe it's the sequel, Resident Evil 2?
RE2 is the one that takes place in town I think, so perhaps that was the one.
Sounds like Resident Evil 2. They need to get that on the PC, ASAP.
This is definitive Resident Evil 2. If google some Screenshots for RE2 you will see, that was the game you played.

RE2 had a PC Version. Or did you mean the Remake for it that was announced in August.

A more compatible remake is what I'm referring to. They did a great job with RE1 and I'm looking forward to 2 coming back.
Resident Evil 2 without a doubt.
I think it might be Resident Evil 2.

Actually, that was the crowd letting out of the ManU/Man City match up last week.
Another vote for RE2.

What you describe is basically the intro video of RE2. Although the mansion you describe is on RE1. RE2 takes place in a police station.

Well technically it takes place in a gun store and then a police station. :P

And yeah it would be nice here. I have it on disc but tweeking it to get to run off a cd on a new pc is beyond fucking agonizing.

Bizzarely, it's probably easier to get the Playstation version to run on a modern PC than the actual PC version.

Two discs to be precise! One for Leon and another for Claire. At least that's the PS version. As for the compatibility, I solved it some years ago; bought a PSP! :)

It would be a welcome addition to GOGs game database. At least the first three REs.

Bring them all over. Some love for the entire series would be nice. Well unless you're a raging fan boy. :p
