Entire The Witcher universe, up to 85% off.

The world doesn't need a hero, it needs a discount.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the entire The Witcher universe, a collection of masterworks in video-game storytelling, are now on promo! Are you fan of mature RPGs? Cold and indifferent universes in which there are no good guys? Growly badassery and makin' money? The critically acclaimed open world of No Man's Land hits a historically low price:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is 30% off for the very first time.

Here's what the press says about it so far:

"The Witcher 3 finds a nigh-perfect sense of balance between giving you things to do and allowing its spaces to breathe. [...] And make no mistake: this is one of the best role-playing games ever crafted, a titan among giants and the standard-setter for all such games going forward. [...] But while the grand clashes are captivating, it is the moments between conflicts, when you drink with the local clans and bask in a trobairitz's song, that are truly inspiring." -- 10/10 -- Gamespot

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt encompasses what I hope is the future of RPGs. It stands out for its wonderful writing, variety of quests and things to do in the world, and how your choices have impact in interesting ways. Usually something is sacrificed when creating a world this ambitious, but everything felt right on cue. I still think about some of my choices and how intriguing they turned out – for better or worse." -- 9.75/10 -- Game Informer

You can also get the whole story, and catch up on The Witcher's universe of indifference at up to 85% off with:
--The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings -85%
--The Witcher -85%
--The Witcher Adventure Game -60%

Deadly contracts and war-torn lands await in The Witcher universe promo, until Thursday, September 10, 3:59 AM GMT.

Crosmando: Where's the [new] games?

Ciris: We've had a week full of releases last week, and we've already launched a couple of titles this week and more are on their way. Still not enough? ;)

(btw, if the answer to that is yes, feel free to help us release even more awesome stuff).
Man, if I had the expertise in some of these positions I'd be on the next plane over there, as you guys have the best weather, especially the summer (Or lack thereof) instead I'm stuck indoors due to the sweltering mass of mugginess that is the south-fuckin'-east..Yes I despise summer with a white -hot passion, but it seems your winters are mild too!

Orig from the great lakes, where wind chills exceed 20f/28.8c below zero!

OT, I really hope to see Bethesda on your list of partners because the thought of buying fallout 4 on gog would make my year!

moonshineshadow: Too bad the expension pass is not discounted, which was my first thought when I read "Entire Witcher Universe" :D
I was hoping for that too.

You've linked to the careers page in reference to helping GOG release more awesome stuff, but I would really like to know what users who aren't employed by GOG can do to help out. I've been trying to contact various developers and publishers about releasing their games on GOG, and I know Barry_Woodward has put a lot of effort into raising awareness for games on the forum with the Community Wishlist. Is there anything else that users can do to help?

One thing in particular that would be nice to know is if there's any proper way to suggest a game to GOG. It would be helpful if users could make game suggestions and explain why a game deserves to be on GOG, especially when a game has been rejected previously, but at the moment there doesn't seem to be a way to make those suggestions. When trying to suggest games through Support in the past, I've mostly just been given a stock response about how they can't comment, so I feel like that's not where game suggestions are supposed to go.

Please, let us know about anything and everything that can be done to help out! I'm sure there are plenty of people here who would love to assist GOG however they can.

sigilork: You are being ignoant and selfish here not me. Good work needs to be payed properly like it or not. That is exactly the mentality that I mean. Thanks for showing it off. Maybe someone should tell you that these people have a life too that needs to be financed. This ignorance of yours makes the rich richer and keeps the poor poor.
Selfish yes, but ignorant? How so? What am I ignorant of exactly? Or did you just want to turn the insult around on me, no matter if there is a basis or not?
How do I make the rich richer?? If anything I am doing the exact opposite by considering a one man project like Eador:Genesis worth more than a 100 man project like GTA or whatever. Did you even think about what you wrote or did your brain turn off from anger?

CharlesGrey: Well, there may or may not be a direct connection there, but you're not going to deny that "dumbing down" and streamlining of games is all about mass market appeal, right?
No, why should I deny it, what does it have to do with anything?

avatar
CharlesGrey: And there's definitely a connection between the buying behavior of customers these days, and new payment models. If the majority of gamers refuses to buy games at base price, regardless of their quality, size or age, then the standard sales model loses importance, and publishers start looking at alternatives. Of course not all of them actually use them as a replacement -- some just dump the extra profit system on top of the traditional base price, if they feel they can get away with it.
You are mixing up cause and effect here.

avatar
CharlesGrey: Well, yes! I'm just saying that it's short-sighted to make huge discounts the highest priority. As gamers and customers, we all do our part in shaping the future of the industry, with each purchase we make. So if we really love certain genres, or the work of specific developers, then it's important to support them to the extent that we can afford to spare the money. Or we'll eventually end up with nothing but the generic annual AAA clones, sequels and remakes.
That is very idealistic of you, but unfortunately markets do not work like this.

avatar
CharlesGrey: ( You mentioned earlier that games are cheaper, because they are able to sell them in larger numbers, but for more obscure game concepts and niché genres that just doesn't work. They're dependent on a certain core audience who don't mind paying a higher price, since they just don't have the mass appeal required to sell huge numbers of copies. Without that support certain sub-genres will either die, or the developers will be forced to make their games more mainstream compatible -- in other words "dumbed down".)
If that is so, then they will sell such games more expensive. What exactly is the problem? What is the point you are making?

Not as a full partner as with EA, and UBISoft they aren't, you've inadvertently clipped the point of my statement in your quote: "... because the thought of buying fallout 4 on gog would make my year!"

Besides I already snapped up those (Extremely rare) offerings as soon as I saw them!..So yeah, preaching to the choir over here! ;^)

Ciris:
Is it possible to get a copy of the Triss image as a wall paper?
I cannot see it in my wallpaper folder, unless I have missed it.
30% off is tempting, but I still haven't finished the other two Witcher games.

Oh well. By the time I get around to them GOG might have a higher discount.

HunchBluntley: Not sure if you're joking or not, but I'm pretty sure he meant that GOG doesn't display Wild Hunt as owned for him in the store, despite the fact that it IS in his library.
It's the same for me. I bought the Collector's Edition box of TW3 and registered the code here on the site, so the game is in my library. But on the promo page, the game is still under "Games you don't own yet".

It really is a shame that my BF wanted to buy Witcher 3 for me as it's on sale but GOG will not let him buy it and gift it to me, even though he already owns it himself and has bought the expansion.

Oh well GOG's loss ...Because of that I am getting the new GW2 expansion pre order instead.

I'm thinking perhaps GOG needs to rethink their Gift sales policy.

I agree! Excellent statement. Cheers to whomever come up with that line.
I didn't even like the first Witcher, yet I am compelled to get Witcher 2 at that price.
I've been hearing a lot of complaints about low performance. While fun, the past Witcher games were badly optimized at least until release of Enhanced Editions.

Can anyone tell me if this is worth having as it is or if I'll need to spend $10,000 in hardware to be able to play it properly?

jorlin: Please file a support ticket and the GOG Staff will do everything in their power to remedy this ASAP.

So you think the right place to ask for support is in a comments section of some newspost, not the support section of the site?
