Good evening to everyone,

I am opening this topic, because I would like to ask, if somebody today has problem with paying for games using debit card ? I paid with my DB numerous times here without any issues (bought maybe over ), until today. Topic #26765 is open, no response from staff. Got that error saying, that my bank rejected something, but that is nonsense, I was personally today in bank (I am from Czech republic) and I even called them, but they said they didn't even receive any transactions from GOG and my debit card isn't blocked etc. Strange thing is, that today I paid for 2 games, that statement is even in my bank, and everything is ok, but when I tried to buy other games, I got that crazy error and it still persists. Can pay with my DB on internet (just topped up my phone credit), I can pay with it even on steam, c'mon guys, I want to buy some games in this sale, this is really annoying and frustrating. I really hope, that it will be fixed soon, I want support GOG with my money rather than steam (that's why I left from steam at all, DRM = really bad thing + according to EULA you don't own games on steam :o( ) Any help and suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you for help in advance.

Kind regards,

Nid

It's common. From time to time a few people have issues with using a certain payment method. More so during sales, like now. You did the right thing in contacting support, because it's usually a glitch somewhere in processing the payment and they'll fix it for you (as long as it isn't the fault of another service provider involved). At least, they'll tell you what doesn't work at the moment.
i think that paysafecard is much "safer" you know? and convenient. and since it's available even in romania where i live, i imagine it must be available everywhere - maybe antarctica too? when i want to spend money in games, mostly online stuff, i just go to a food store and they have a big thing like an ATM. i insert the money, then the paper with codes comes out it's very easy unlike going to a bank
For me, two transactions per day seems to be some sort of a limit on GOG. After that, it will give that error. I've worked around it using another payment method, but it sucks having to do that. Of course now that I'm aware of it, I just try not to make more than one or two purchases on a given day. Sucks for some of these fast sales... but, they suck anyway. :)

Yeah I got it now. Support replied:

Hello,

Your recent purchase attempts were blocked by our payment provider's fraud screening service. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We will contact them about this, and attempt to resolve this issue as soon as possible, however I don't know how much time this could take.

In the meantime, I would strongly suggest using the other payment methods, like PayPal, if that is possible for you.

Well, at least I will know it's glitch, if somebody will have same problem. Still, I am surprised about that. Anyway, I will wait when they fix it, I feel much better using DB. Thx everybody for help and replies.

Cheers,

Nid
well sometimes it REALLY is on one's bank side (even if they claim it's not), sometime it's on GOG fault or on middleman third party partner's fault 'like the fraud screening company)

i had several troubles on humble STORE about that (on bundle side i always use amazon paiment and so far never got any problem)
on GOG i did have problems a few time, but support always provided rather quick info/answer to that (except a one time bug on my account they left rot for a full month :) )

hey last time i even had a "payment method" issue with..... GOG wallet !?!

but the support quickly dealt with it, and with more satisfactory result than i ever intended or expected (thanx again, Smutny... though you have quite a disturbing avatar)
