It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

The installer is inside the Rar file, it asks me for password to unzip
You might have downloaded only some parts of a multi-part RAR-based password-protected GOG installer. More details about that can be seen there: On GNU/Linux, has anyone be able to extract the RAR InnoSetup installers?

If that is the case you should ensure you downloaded some setup_name_of_the_game.exe in addition to the setup_name_of_the_game-number.bin files, and run the .exe one instead of trying to open the .bin ones.

Funny that nobody asked by now: "Which file?"

Hm. There should be no .rar file.
There should be a .bin file.

This is not what the current STALKER installer is supposed to look like.

I suggest downloading a fresh installer from your GOG account, it should be provided as a .exe file (+ .bin extra part). If you still end up with a .rar file it means your Web browser is messing things up (I think Google Chrome is known for that), then you might want to give a try to Firefox.

It still wouldn't ask for a password. Most probable scenario: the OP didn't BUY this game (at least not from GOG).

Edit: OK, if Linux versions have password protected rar-files, the OP downloaded the wrong OS installer.

there are no linux files for the stalker games.
beginning to think OP may be an account getting setup for bot use.
Edit: OR theyve downloaded a gog version from a rat site

I think the latter. Bots don't usually reply (in a relevant way).

Maybe the OP doesn't know the difference between warez and legitimate purchase... Nothing surprises me anymore.

If GOG doesn't provide RAR files for this game, then lcmarcelo should go ask for help at the place where he/she/it got those files from.

I've got my doubts you've got a legit version. In fact, I can count legit rars on one hand.

RAR-based password protected installers is a thing GOG did, I posted a link to an explanation in this post. This is not about Linux installers but about Windows ones.

What Marcelo_Del_Aguila showed us is a legit installer. Some Web browsers recognize the .bin installer parts as what they are, a RAR archive, and for some obscure reason "fix" their file extension. Then Windows automatically tries to open them with any software available that can handle RAR archives.

GOG added a password on these archives to prevent users to extract the game content this way, then wonder why the game does not work.

By the way, the password is the MD5 hash of the game ID in GOG database. For Stalker it would probably be:

Since some of you seem doubtful, here is a post by the official GOG.com account on the subject: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/on_gnulinux_has_anyone_be_able_to_extract_the_rar_innosetup_installers/post470
