Seriously though, there's a time and place for everything. This is hardly the right occasion to engage in earnest in a reenactment of that Monty Python bit. Personal opinions on the isntitution of monarchy aside, the man has, for longer likely than any of us has been alive, carried out to the best of his ability his duties to his country and his family, with dignity and work ethic we could only wish from most our elected leaders (not to mention his war service). I think he deserves some respect, at the very least not bickering about the monarchy over his coffin.

Heard recently. Quite unfortunate that he couldn't live until he was a century old. May he rest in peace.

A long time to stand by the throne. He seemed like a good fellow, though he occasionally had some choice words. But still, worked until the age of 95. Rest in peace.
