Andremop: but goddamn, can he play his (legendary yellow) guitar.

tinyE: I never fully realized that till I saw a recorded concert of his about 20 years ago. I was just sitting back half watching when he pulled out his axe and just went nuts on it. I had NO CLUE he was that good of a pure player.
He could play a lot of instruments, somewhere around 27 or so I think.

As far as I know, on his first album, he played all the instruments himself.
Bucket load of stuff on Reddit today all about Prince, he was clearly well liked.
One I had forgotten about, was from the Animaniacs.

Surprised the censors didn`t pick up on this one ;)

timppu: I don't even know what he has been doing in the 2000s,
This is the internet age. I started using the internet in 1994 because I was such a big prince fan and didn't want to rely on media reports. And since then I was almost every day on some fansite (or newsgroup back in the days) to see what's happening. And there was a lot going on, because he was very prolific from the beginning of his career until today. He gave so many concerts and released tons of music.

This hurts my soul. I'm in a R&B/Funk band, time to cover some Prince at our next show.
he died on me birthday.
Dude was one of the best musicians of my time.. He will be missed. RIP Prince.
R.I.P. Prince you big artist.

My childhood heroes, especially those from the eighties are dying. It feels like they are taking a part of me with them every time. I sorely miss the parts dead and gone.

Makes u wonder what will happen years from now when the current gen and recent musicians start to dropoff.

A lot of them are younger than me so I guess by that time I wouldn't really react.

Also a lot of them are a lot less talented than the ones that are currently dying off...
That's what happens when you become a Jehovah's Witness.

Joking aside, rest in peace Prince. Do they make purple caskets?
