Time4Tea: Just a suggestion, but it might be worth GOG mentioning that somewhere then? (as in, somewhere more visible than an obscure forum post)
Good idea....that info should maybe be added to the pride month event page(s).

GamezRanker: Btw: I assume/hope it isn't one that also demonizes/belittles/shames/etc other groups like heterosexuals/etc, or that tries to force such other groups to think/act a certain way?
I doubt it. Poland is a very conservative, Catholic country with a far-right government ("Law and order") - also see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Poland

They have better things to do. Like fighting for rights LGBTQ in other civilized countries already take for granted.

I think it's a very cool thing a Polish company like GOG supports those people.

If you mean supporting LGBT(in need) in general, I agree....I just was curious as to how good/legit that charity was, as I have seen/heard about some sketchy ones in the past.

(just curious, as a few LGBT charities do in fact do such things, which is unfortunate/sad)
No, they just support protests that vandalise churches.

I assume you have sources(articles/etc) to back this claim up?
(Just asking as I like to verify any such claims and not just accept them blindly)

If you do, send them to me via PM, or(if they're not COC breaking) post em here.

It may break some rules (it is sort of political anyway) so just to be safe I'll send you a PM.

TheEndedSkull: Where in the US are you that Christmas isn't shoved down your throat for the last 2-3 full months of the year? I've seen that stuff in stores before Halloween lately, and of course when December itself rolls around the whole thing gets dialed up to 11.
Oh, really? Have you actually seen "Christmas" signs and logos? Or was it just "X-mas" signs and logos that were named this way precisely to remove mentions of Christianity from wherever possible?

Frambooos: Glad you mentioned it! We worked with two Polish LGBT charities this year, and we are also raising money within the company for Kampania Przeciw Homofobii (Campaign Against Homophobia). KPH creates social campaigns, conducts advocacy and educational activities, and offers legal and psychological assistance for LGBT people in Poland.
That's amazing (!), especially considering the situation in Poland. Though I wish you would have promoted this much better (or mentioned it, like, at all). EVen if it's within the company, people buying games on GOG kinda contributed in an indirect way, and they should be proud of that.

Enebias: I just wanted to say this: being intolerant with those who are intolerant is perfectly fine by me. Apparently contradictory, indeed, but then again why would a society wanting a place for everyone want to deal with somebody negating this principle? Live and let live, but if somebody doesn't allow you smash them.
This is a very underrated (and under-upvoted) post and will no doubt be ignored or go over the heads of those it's directed at.

If you object to a bigoted, prejudist homophobe, are you yourself intolerant or bigoted? Really? The mental hoops to justify even asking that question, nevermind answering it wrongly, is staggering. Yet, it happens. EVen in this very thread.

You are wrong about it.

"The "X" comes from the Greek letter Chi, which is the first letter of the Greek word Christós (Greek: Χριστός), which became Christ in English.[1] The suffix -mas is from the Latin-derived Old English word for Mass.[2]

There is a common misconception that the word Xmas stems from a secular attempt to remove the religious tradition from Christmas[3] by taking the "Christ" out of "Christmas", but its use dates back to the 16th century."

Whole article for more information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xmas

Santa, elves, reindeers, wrapped gifts, lighted houses, wreaths, trees, stockings, etc. are symbols of Christmas. I'm not sure how things are done in Russia. But seasonal Christmas products are up for sale in the first week after Halloween (if not before then) and Christmas songs are on the radio or played in stores. Some employees will also wear santa hats too. Carols are sung in primary schools. Many shows have Christmas episodes and there are movies related to Christmas.

And the X in Xmas is shortened for Christ. And Christmas is already a shortened form of "Christ's mass".

Might wanna reconsider replying to my posts after you banned me from your PMs due to me extending an olive branch for some reason.

That's just weird, man.

I fail to see the problem there. Normalisation is precisely how we do away with the prejudices you are seemingly harbouring.

Wishmaster777: Gog is becoming more extremist left as the time goes by. Just wait for their "Kill the 'Nazi'" games selection sale.
GOG does have nazi killing games. If you think that's a "far-left" stance it says a lot about the calibration of your own compass.
