What's wrong with Paypal?

Shmacky-McNuts: Not asking for the number obviously. But could you tell me what card it was specifically?

There are a number of types(like, gold silver etc.)

andysheets1975: I believe it was an "American Express business gift card" (I got it through an office thing). IIRC, that's actually what I put in the name field. The only thing that tripped me for a moment is that the security code is actually a four digit number on the right side of the card's face, not the three-digit number on the back like most cards.
Tripped as in errors orr........just confused you but still worked? 0_o

To personal and I dislike being sent to another website dealing with financial transactions. I kinda take that seriously.

I don't have a problem exactly with paypal, just don't want to use them.

Ok...
I'm the same way with PayPal. It's just something I like to avoid.

Sorry. Just that I initially entered the 3-digit code on the back and the card didn't work. When I tried the 4-digit code on the front, the sale went through.
Tried using an Amex "serve" pre-paid card. Sadly it does not work. Which is especially odd since it explicitly states it can be used for international purchases at 2.7%.

Well Anyone else like to help find out what works and what won't?

Would be valuable information to everyone if you shared.
Nothing special but I just use a simple Wal-Mart prepaid card. Nothing special but it is something I use for incidental purchases where I don't want to use a normal credit card. Not a perfect solution but it works. However, the temp card you get initially doesn't work.

Please explain?

I used the physical card in the package to make a small purchase that was accepted. But not sure why GOG rejected it.
The one that comes in the package can't be used for international purchases. You need the physical card they send to make international purchases. That is what happens. It was something that got me the first time. I had to go looking reading the clauses and all in the package.

Shmacky-McNuts: Thanks. I'll try to find this paysafecard thingy. But feel free to post any more information of pre-paid cards that work on GOG. Because I'm certain I'm not the only one that would like to know.

Thanks again.

Please continue this topic =D

hucklebarry: I can only tell you what doesn't work. I've tried standard VISA, standard Mastercard, and green dot. None of them have worked. I tried another one that links to Paypal... it was horribly annoying. I may try paysafe at some point... but would much rather some form of GOG cash/wallet/giftcard.
I use a Green Dot Visa card I got from Radio Shack to buy stuff from GOG, but I made sure to check it would work with international online purchases (they have several different kinds). I think it just said 'Online Shopping' or something. But, you have to pay a $4.95 fee every month unless you maintain a balance of several thousand dollars or use the card more than 30 times in that month. You also have to pay $4.95 everytime you want to put cash on it. And they just changed it so that you can't buy prepaid cards to reload the card anymore, you have to bring your card to the store and have the cashier swipe it at the register to recharge it. Also, there's some international transaction fee of about 6 cents for each dollar spent at GOG.

Yeah, the Serve card is a piece of crap that does this as well. It really annoyed me because it flatout says on the package you can use it for international purchases AND online! I called and complained and they only response was to tell me to go to their site, register and file a formal complaint.

I was nice as the girl apologized for this deceptive packaging and I wasn't to angry as I figured it wouldn't work anyway. But when its on the packaging...that its actually breaking the law in the states and a few other nations.

It is as you mention. They require the user to register and THEN get a new card in order to use internationally.
But that is kind of the point. I want to use a form of payment that isn't personal at all.

Sadly PaySafeCard isn't anything I can get where I live either >_>

Ahh...but does one have to register and/or have to have a new card sent to them by mail?

I'm looking for a:
buy it at store(adding cash of course). Then use it on GOG without anything else. No register or go to their website etc. Cash to digital = buy gog games =D

...uh...what? 0_o
Still curious if anyone has been able to use the temporary card from a pre-paid on GOG?

small edit-
Without getting a new one in the mail OR a company/business card.

Shmacky-McNuts: If they were to make their own card like, Google Play cards. That would be an instant hit for me.

Buy a piece of paper and just use it as needed. HUGE win if they could do that for us.
I'd also like to see "GOG Play cards" at stores.
