The game looks awesome, but experience has taught me to avoid preordering expensive games (or any games at all...)
Wishlisted for getting it after release.
I'm really looking forward to this game, it was already my favourite among the coming devolver titles highlighted a month or two ago.

Do these devs have anything to do with the Hard West crew?

The game looks *extremely* similar in visual style, gameplay and even down to having multiple story arcs featuring different characters.

Not that that's a bad thing (Hard West was a ton of fun, and I liked that each campaign had this weird overarching mechanic that altered how you'd play and what your goal was).
Looks really good, but I haven't even picked up Dead of West yet...
For storage requirements the GOG page says 2 GB but the Steam page said 16GB of space....
Seems as if the game has permadeath, which is a big "nope" for me.
But the rest looks really nice. seems to be more an RPG than an adventure game.
Already had it on my wishlist. I'm excited for the release of the game!

The company behind this game is the new studio formed by two ex-Arkane people - notably Raphael Colantonio, who was the big boss at Arkane Studios (Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, Dishonored, Prey etc) before he left a couple of years ago. That alone has had me keeping an eye on this title for a while now.

That being said, there was talk of a demo coming out quite some time ago (maybe one or two years ago) and that demo hasn't materialized yet, AFAIK. Kinda hope they get around to releasing it before January.
looks very attracitve visually...
I'm unclear about what genre of game this one falls into.

Is it a Desperados-like, or no?

I THINK it's supposed to be more of a real-time action RPG from a top-down perspective, possibly with some immersive sim elements. What I've seen of the gameplay kinda reminds me of Seven: The Days Long Gone.

If I remember the previews correctly, Weird West has a couple of different characters you can choose from and you play the game until permadeath, at which point you switch to another character. Supposedly, the deeds (and death) of the character you played earlier then has some kind of permanent influence on the game world and the plot. Though that last bit does sound like the typical marketing speech which all developers give us to sell their RPGs :D
I always love the idea of combining the western genre with supernatural idea. I just hoping they gonna make a game based on adventures of Jonah Hex as well.
I was a bit skeptical about Weird West at first, but now the project is looking much more promising.)

I will wait for reviews and patches before purchasing, as always.

Exsurgent: possibly with some immersive sim elements
According to the game description and taking into account developers background, immersive sim is the main genre of this game. ;)
Would you believe that everyone's favourite enhancer of classic isometric cRPGs have (had?) actually beaten WolfEye Studios on (still developing?) an isometric cRPG taking place in a Weird West setting?
Beamdog appear to have been working on an isometric Weird West RPG
