A role-playing title that introduced the post-apo genre to mainstream gaming in 1988 is making a big comeback soon with revamped graphics and sound.

Get ready for the apocalypse and pre-order Wasteland Remastered from inXile Entertainment on GOG.COM. Join Desert Rangers, the only law left in what was once the American southwest after the Nuclear War.
So, it's official! it's coming here! And still on my birthday :) woot woot

Sachys: considering they gave away WL2 a wee while back and it included WL1, im sure you can see the logic in them not doing that.

Tarhiel: Not complaining, as I said, I have bought it in an instant.
I know you werent mate. just making a point (especially for the repeat comments that are likely to follow). ;)
If the developer of Elderborn, a dev relatively unknown to GOG, can program achievements for their GOG version, what difficulties does inXile, a dev quite familiar with GOG for many years, have with programming something that simple for their GOG version?

gog2002x: P.S. Now if we could get the Forgotten Realms series remastered, wouldn't that be something lol.
The Forgotten Realms series? A pretty decent chunk of all official D&D games to date have used that setting. ;)
I wonder if they've changed the skill system so all the useless skills (Toaster Repair, Cryptology etc) now are useful.
Ugly as muck. There's nothing better than good old pixels.
They could use a bit less colours - but nevertheless - I'll pick it once I get home. Hopefully it works on W7.

BTW - I like music in trailer

Indeed, inXile is proving to be deeply disrespectful to its GOG customers. Their continuous refusal to implement the achievements on their games for sale on this store is without excuses. Personally, I have no intention of supporting such behavior by big publishers.

UhuruNUru: However fuck Preordering pretty much everything, and I thought they were supposed to be making Wasteland 3.
Yes, you can preorder that as well.

Don't think this studios big enough to do both at same time, so this ones being half assed in my opinion.
Krome Studios, the same people that did the remasters for the original Bard's Tale Trilogy, did the remaster for Wasteland. InXile just acts as the publisher. So, it is not a case of divided attention.

01kipper: I was hopeful, but I just got word from inXile (on their forum) that there are no plans for any other platforms besides Windows and XBox :(
That kills my interest entirely. The original has linux and mac installers.
what a shame not to have support for brazilian portuguese but even so i will buy

viperfdl: Yes. Maybe not always but most of the time.
That's me as well.....sometimes if a new version has no changes to gameplay/etc and is just HD graphics i'll skip the old one, and a few other exceptions as well, but usually I like to play old versions first if possible.

viperfdl: Sorry, but my mother taught me not to fist strangers on the internet. ;)
Lol

UhuruNUru: Easily fixed discounts given to those that own both W1,and W2, why do they even need to restrict it, but also they can tell exactly how much you paid, it says on the invoice, so it's not an issue in any case.
I meant if their automated system could use that info to allow the discount or no....but that much is true....they DO have the info(GOG does).

Eh, I like preordering or KSing a few rare things from devs/etc that usually are always spot on or a favorite series.....but it is rare(poor and I don't do many preorders as well).

Isn't that a remake not a remaster?

No, it´s a remaster, just like Bard´s Tale Trilogy.
Time to level up our brawling skill by beating the Scorpitron with a canteen!
