Become the Ultimate Vampire!

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is now available for pre-order, DRM-free.

Written by the creative mind behind the original Bloodlines, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 brings the ambitions of the first to life and sees the return of a few fan favorite characters.

Immerse yourself in the World of Darkness and live out your vampire fantasy in a city filled with intriguing characters that react to your choices. You and your unique disciplines are a weapon in our forward-driving, fast-moving, melee-focussed combat system. Your power will grow as you advance, but remember to uphold the Masquerade and guard your humanity... or face the consequences.
No stream of DLCs is the one bit of good news there. And otherwise yeah, it is a strangely frank speech. But keeping the license when you want no part of it is just rotten. Not that it's any surprise.

BreOl72: Aged like wine, huh?
Yes.

If you keep it at the open air.

Instead of in a bottle.

Well they say that if Bloodlines 2 sells they will do Bloodlines 3.

Not sure how VtMB2 can still be a success in these circumstances, but whatever.

No stream of DLCs is indeed good, but at least 1-3 DLCs so we can have a few more clan choices would have been great.

Frankly any Vampire: The Masquerade game should have Toreador, Malkavian and Nosferatu as choices. Those are my favorite clans from VtMB1, anyway.

Sadly, this is coming from a company which quite literally operates on a steady stream of DLCs and made it their business model. Clearly tells how much confidence they have in the project.

What'd have been great would have been to have all of that and more in the game itself, not in DLCs.

And yeah, those three and Brujah, Tremere and Ventrue, which they did include. Ventrue's needed because they run things, then you have your standard fighter, mage, thief archetypes in Brujah, Tremere and Nosferatu, then the artists and the insane that would play differently. But that's just why they saved them for what must have been initially planned DLCs, same as Nosferatu, which they replaced with the Banu Haqim for a more "standard" thief archetype, not requiring them to implement all the separate gameplay paths in the base game. And can also say that Toreador is for fans of Anne Rice, and Malks are definitely for anyone who played the original Bloodlines, even without actually playing Malk, just knowing all they implemented in the game just for that clan, so there would be quite a target audience for a DLC including those if they want to milk it for all it's worth.

Agreed but its Paradox, so DLCs have already been expected.

Don't know why exactly but I have an inkling that mods - especially of the character model-changing variety - are going to be absolutely mandatory for this one.
Why does this make me wan Blood of the Dawnwalker that much more?

Voted.
"Corporate wants you to spot the difference between these 2 pictures."

"They're the same picture."

Definitely comparable to this:

That's not so easy if you can change your clothes or visible equipment in Bloodlines 2, you can't simply change the whole model to make an actual woman because the clothes will clip through everything or fit the model like a clown

I really, really hate this
At this point the only way to salvage this at least to some extent really is to detach and sever any and all connections to the original Bloodlines and turn it into a stand-alone The Masquerade title, like Redemption or Swansong.

This way we might not have to wait for 10 years or so for the stench this supposed sequel will undoubtedly leave behind when it's released D.O.A. in a couple months to dissipate and for another developer with a proven track record in quality RPGs to have a proper swing at a continuation that's actually worth of being called "Bloodlines 2".

Just offering body type A as the only choice surely is the maximum in streamlining that can be achieved in this regard?
