So what's the story so far? Was watching a review of Bloodlines and I was reminded of this again and all the pre-order stuff and I now realize it's been four years since it was announced. I too remember when Crackdown 3 was announced and became an entirely different game five years later.
Ive waited for this one.

"Bloodlines 2: Update June 2023

Dear Bloodlines fans,

It’s been quite a while between updates while we’ve had our heads down working on the game. We remain just as dedicated to delivering a great Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines game as we were when we announced, and are looking forward to showing you more in September this year.

We acknowledge it was a long time ago that many of you pre-ordered Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. As development continues, we will be updating the game’s editions and bonus content, and we want to provide the best value to those of you who supported us via digital pre-order after all this time. We are thus offering refunds to anyone who has pre-ordered any edition of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. As part of this process, we are proactively refunding all pre-orders of physical products, including the Collector’s Edition. The digital versions of the First Blood Edition, Unsanctioned Edition and Blood Moon Edition remain, but can be refunded if you choose.

We’re excited to show you more and hope to have all of you with us in September when we reveal more. We know you are eager to see how the game is coming along so we’ve put together a fresh batch of screenshots to share with you.

For more information about refunds and how to submit your request, please visit our FAQ.

Until then,
The Bloodlines Team

Stay tuned here and on the Bloodlines 2 Discord server for more news."

"Pre-ordering a year in advance is terrible!" said GOGers in 2019.

Hindsight can truly be a thing to behold.
After all that's happened I fear another Duke Nukem Forever situation.
Hiring a dev team that isn't familiar with making RPGs, firing key staff, changing developer studios...
I still believe!

Loved bloodline, but what I would prefer would be a sequel to Redemption, or at least a remaster that restores the surround effects.
Using indirectsound at least restores the 5.1/7.1 sound, but some EAX effects are not supported.

It's difficult to overlook the implied message: "Please refund your pre-orders so we can scrap this project." Merely showcasing five screenshots after three years of radio silence also doesn't necessarily help to reignite interest.

Just a couple months until September, when more's supposedly going to be revealed and shown though.
At least they have screenshots, showing several distinct locations, which are looking different from previous versions of the game. So, some work on the project has definitely been done. :)

I'd rather choose a completely new full-scale game in the World of Darkness setting, unrelated to both Redemption and Bloodlines.

I just loved the setting of Redemption, it was awesome. And despite the stupid wayfinder routing, also the gameplay was cool.
I am not familiar with the World of Darkness setting, I must confess. I never was a big Vampire fan, but Redemption got me good and I also enjoyed Bloodline, even if not as much.
Most other Masquerade game (Coteries, Shadows, Swansong) are set in the same setting as Bloodlines, right?

Yes, of course, my problem with this news is that they failed to present something to make me look forward to any new content.

Vampire: The Masquerade ( alongside Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Mage: The Ascension ) are sub-settings of the World of Darkness.

Bloodlines, Redemption and those visual novels are mutually unrelated games / series within Vampire: The Masquerade sub-setting.

I would love Redemption sortof game. Become a vampire in middle ages, go to slumber wake up maybe in victorian london, back to sleep and now you are in NYC in 1999.

I think, that is a good idea for a trilogy. However, combining all three sections in one game would require too much resources. Each of them needs its own set of assets and gameplay mechanics.

I would also like to see non-overused times and locations.
