Thank you for this, very informative.

I hope they improve that targeting, though, when playing cards. It seems a bit...clunky? And the player was confused about what to do a few times even with the tutorial or whatever was that.

Also, is the game saving constanly like we saw in the video?

Anyway, very interesting video, thanks!

Linko90: This was a mistake on the game card. I can confirm Thronebreaker will be DRM-Free with offline installers.

:)
*Phew* that was a close one. The thread probably would have been exploded if it weren't confirmed to be a mistake. Thank you for the clarification.

Zoidberg: MORE gwent?

FFS, pass!

Linko90: If you're not into Gwent, Thronebreaker comes with 'Story mode' which allows you to skip the battles and focus on the story.
Interesting. But is there more than just story in the game? I mean, are there other puzzles, quests, challenges except from the GWENT related ones? Or are we are speaking about "just story" aka basically visual novel after switching to "Story mode"?

Would t download it if you gave it away free, just another tie yourself into our client dodgy card game based on a very average game in the first place.
Does that need Galaxy?

Edit: Just found official answer which kinda implies: "Probably not." (Searching for 'Galaxy' in thread didnt turn up anything...)

According to this post: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/preorder_thronebreaker_the_witcher_tales_6f773/post19
no, it does not need Galaxy. (Unless you're interested in Gwent-related bonuses.)

You can play it entirely single player with no need for Galaxy or Gwent. How does that qualify as "just another tie yourself into our client dodgy card game"?

You don't need the client.

I'm fully aware of your dislike for Galaxy, but i would ask you stop ignoring information in order to post a mini-rant :)

Thronebreaker does not require galaxy and supports offline installers. Something you're very passionate about it.

Unity game and no Linux support. Too bad CDPR, too bad. You can't even excuse it with difficulty of porting this time. And missing Galaxy is no excuse either since:

Any chance for macOS / Linux support? I'd love to play this on my desktop computer.

It should be easy too, since it's using Unity3D. So with all this talk about not giving platforms preferential treatment, CDPR are clearly giving Windows one.

I can't understand how will player get new cards in this game. Is this will be like buying new boosters for in-game currency or strictly folowed by storyline? Another question - will the player be able to play "skirmishes" with the deck he has?(I know, I can play GWENT with training bots, but I don't want to)

Thank you all for answers in advance!

Besides, the game doesn't seem graphics-heavy.

$40 for 30 hours of campaign... Admittedly, I'm not expecting 150 hours for that price, but that is a little on the light side.

It will be strictly through the story. This is stated on the game card: "Each card represents an entity in the game — characters players interact with during open world exploration can become on-hand assets, deployable during battle."
Another question - will the player be able to play "skirmishes" with the deck he has?(I know, I can play GWENT with training bots, but I don't want to)
That would be cool!
