Of vice and (dead) men.

The Walking Dead: Michonne, a new visceral entry to Telltale's phenomenal interactive drama series, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com. Due to technical issues, the Mac version of the game will be available tomorrow.

Michonne is a troubled woman, broken and reforged by a world where the living are no longer welcome. But above all, she is a survivor. Since the moment she was introduced to the Walking Dead universe, wielding her menacing katana and leading two reanimated corpses by chains, she instantly became a fan favorite. However, nobody knows exactly what she got herself into during the time when she left Rick Grimes' group to deal with her personal demons. Until now.

The Walking Dead: Michonne is a three-episode miniseries that explores this period in time when Michonne went sailing aboard "The Companion". Along with its crew, they soon come across a horrible massacre which then leads them to a floating colony of survivors. Are those responsible for the bloodbath living among these people? What will Michonne do, once faced with revelations that she cannot ignore? Her choices and her deadly sword are now in your hands.

Experience the missing chapter in the brutal story of The Walking Dead: Michonne, DRM-free on GOG.com. To coincide with this release, we are also making available the Mac versions of two previous Walking Dead installments on GOG.com: The Walking Dead: Season 1 and Season 2.
I'll grab this once I've played the rest of the series (if not sooner), but recently finished my first Telltale and enjoyed it.

Also thanks for bringing the Mac versions!
Any chance of Linux versions?
I'll pick this one up later on for cheap, I've already made enough day-one Telltale purchases.

Of course Telltale, If you were to fix the Sam & Max glitch that only exists on the GOG version, I might just reconsider paying full price again.

Well, since you're always better served by yourself I went looking for an answer to my question and found this on the Wikipedia pages.

The Walking Dead: Michonne will be released as 3 episodes at 1 month intervals. So first episode feb 2016, second episode march 2016 and third episode april 2016. (Edit: keeping in mind they had other episodic releases being pushed back in the past.)

This was also interesting:
In June 2015, Telltale announced a three-episode series The Walking Dead: Michonne. The mini-series was originally scheduled to be released as downloadable content for Season 2. However in December 2015 Telltale announced that the game would be released in February 2016 as a standalone title that would not require any previous game in the series to play.

Another thing that wasn"t clear to me (but that people here that follows the whole Walking Dead universe picked on) is that Michonne is not Season 3. It will serve as a tie-in to the existing seasons.

ktchong: I already owned and completed The Walking Dead Season 1, 400 Days, and Season 2 on Steam (before GOG even got them.) Kinda want to keep all the entire series on the same platform.

omega64: So rebuy everything here. :P
Unlikely. Only if GOG offers ridiculous discounts on Season 1, 400 Days and Seasons 2. Otherwise, I'd rather not waste my hard-earned money.
"a world where the living are no longer welcome."

I would think the living are quite welcome! As zombie food, of course.
Wishlisted as i might wait for a sale to get the first two as i have them elsewhere (ending for season 1 got spoiled when i accidentally saw the ending somewhere and what happens :(...)

To my knowledge, "Michonne" will not feature data import for the choices made in Season 2, will it?

Like you I had bought and completed previous seasons on Steam.
However, I now intend to switch to DRM-free (whenever possible) and purchase Season 3 on GOG in the future.

So any word on Steam/GOG save files being cross-compatible, folks?

Wouldn't be too hot if I couldn't carry my Season 2 choices (Steam) over to the GOG edition of Season 3.

Cheers

kind of surprised no mods have replied to the price discrepancy as of yet ..3 days later... lol

i guess any question that involves the possibility of money being paid back to customers is swept under the rug and ignored :D
Ill buy it. Just not till the game is finished. Even if it plays more like a tv show than a game, I would still not want to have the immersion of the narrative disrupted every two hours of game play only to have to wait for months for the next installment. That makes no sense to me. Perhaps if the amount of game play were reasonably similar amount of time to complete as it would for the release of the next installment, but not a "weekend" episode to tide you over for months. I have enough patience to wait for the finished product.

Perhaps it is sign of the times, or perhaps it is a spoiled first world problem, but it seems like making consumers wait for content while it is still being developed by a successful studio seems a bit backwards in the age of on demand netflix style binge consumption of entertainment.
Hey, what happened to the game card? It's vanished.
Edit: I guess since it's coming out on the 23rd, it's on it's way.

hi,

I don´t think so. Michionne is a short intermetso between relase of Walking 2 and 3. Your Decision could only get importont for Season 3 or not, see Season 1 --> 2.

And now it's out.

Grargar: And now it's out.
Yeah? In my library it says "there are no downloads for this game," (when using Galaxy) and the install button is still grayed out. Wonder what's up with that. Maybe it's only a matter of mins. now, though.

In any case, enjoy playing, folks!

Damn it GOG, those of us checking the RSS feed for new news don't get notifications when you modify an existing article :(
