Wurzelkraft: Where are the other DLCs?
I take it this is the follow up to the game that has the thread about them not releasing the DLC here. Am afraid I don't pre-order, and I don't pay £13 for this type of thing.

Reminder : The gog version of "The Escapist" still doesn't work, due to a game-breaking bug that is still not being fixed.

Have fun throwing your money at this.

Are there plans to bring the missing DLCs for the first game (The Escapists) to GOG? If you cannot answer, perhaps someone else from GOG can.

Grargar: Yes.
Thanks. Missed that thread.
"Pre-order: The Escapists: The Walking Dead"

Absolutely not. No. Not happening. I bought The Escapists on release, and that didn't go so well with the huge delay for the DLC for the GOG version. The DLC that still isn't here, and that until recently had no official plans for releasing here, though we now have confirmation that it will get released eventually. The idea that this game would be promoted for pre-order on GOG is ridiculous to me.

Telika: Uh, yes ?

Here : http://www.gog.com/forum/escapists_the/shankton_state_pen_bug_or_not_bug

(End of june, I had re-asked Team17 about any progress on that, and they told me that the devs would "hopefully review the matter shortly". No further news since then, I have given up.)
Does the Steam version have this bug or is it limited to just the GoG version?

So, we did talk to Team 17 about this issue, but they haven't been able to replicate your bug so far.
It seems like a pretty rare issue, which is good, technically. But it is putting a hamper on getting it fixed, which sucks.

Still, since it's a game-breaking problem, make sure to get in touch with our support team about it. They’ll have you try a few basic solutions to make sure we didn't miss anything obvious, and if those fail they might be able to offer you a replacement game or store credit for the purchase. That way at least you’re not stuck with a game you can’t really play.

Let them know that you’ve been having the issue for a while and attach a few of these forum links, that’ll be helpful information too.

Ok, thanks for the effort. I know from that thread that i wasn't the only one with that problem, but as i couldn't find other testimonies on the internet i assumed it was limited to gog's version. I'll check with gog's support to see if they can narrow down other factors.

The problem is that the game is otherwise great. So i intended to keep it for any hypothetical later upgrade correcting the issue...

No!
Sorry Team17, I bought "The Escapists" on release but I had to wait month and month for the DLC to be released on GOG. And they're still not here.
I don't like devs that treat non steam users as second class so I'm not going to preorder or buy your game at full price.

The fact that Team 17 weren't aware of the bug and that it's nigh-impossible to find anything on this issue, also on the Steam forums, suggests that it's actually an extremely rare bug that is (almost?) impossible to reproduce and thus fix. That it hasn't been fixed doesn't mean that nobody tried. It sucks that it happens but it's just not enough to throw around claims that the game "doesn't work" if almost all players can get through it just fine (which seems to be the case). You shouldn't shame the devs/publisher like this unless it's a widespread bug that can actually be reproduced.

Yeah, great. However it's not rare enough for me to be the only one encountering it, "the escapist" is not an extremely massively played game, and gog's version even less. So, until I get actual stats on the proportion of bug occurence amongst those who actually played this gog version up to the 3rd prison, I'll keep assuming that other people than me and SCPM will encounter it.
Cute game.
Is it me or is this stupidly expensive for what it is? Maybe its me...
