System Shock 2 was originally released in 1999 and this cult classic sci-fi horror FPS with RPG elements has become widely considered as one of the best video games of all time.

Now, from the hands of Nightdive Studios, the System Shock® 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster is available for pre-order on GOG!

With the goal of reverse engineering the original code to port SS2 to the KEX Engine, this upcoming title will let us enjoy the legendary game from almost 25 years ago, all with cinematics, textures, characters and weapon models updated, and the Co-Op Multiplayer overhauled to create a seamless experience.

Pre-order now on GOG!

From my understanding, only Blade Runner was truly bad. Even tho I enjoy the remaster just for the controller support.

However, there are a few games that were mediocre, such as The Thing and Dark Forces.

My main issue with Dark Forces was that it cost $30, especially since The Force Engine offers a similar experience for free. The game should have been priced at $15 or $20 instead. No way it's worth 30 dollars. Unless I'm missing something.
I got Blade Runner for under €3 at some point, and I still felt the need to refund it.

It's the most unnecessary repack I ever came across. It adds absolutely nothing of value to the original.

I had a hard time knowing which is the "Enhanced Edition" and which is the original when switching between the two. I think I even encountered bugs where there were none, but I couldn't tell you now what they were. This is based on an old message I sent to a friend about it.

Pointless.

In any case, hopefully, the SS2 remaster is good. I haven't played the remake of the first one yet. It's on my wishlist, though. Hopefully, it's a good remake.

Random_Coffee: Did they take out the excellent (but incredibly buggy) co-op multiplayer? I was hoping that would be fixed in this remaster.
I agree that, despite the "the Co-Op Multiplayer [was] overhauled to create a seamless experience", the store page for the game does not list multiplayer, and it makes things confusing. Will it be Steam-only? An oversight on GOG's part (surely that would be unprecedented)?

Yeah, I completely missed the text in the post before posting, oops.. But I was looking for the multiplayer tag on the store page and didn't find it.

Possibly coming on release, if not, later on via patch.

I thought that Dark Forces was received fairly well, and the complaints are with the game itself rather than the remaster of it. They can't exactly fix fundamentals of any given game, but I do agree that they botched Blade Runner somehow.

Small blemishes on an otherwise spotless record. Maybe I have a bias here since I never player any "bad" games by them so far, but I'm sure they exist.

For me - Dark Forces is mediocre.
Imuse is broken. New graphic style is more cartoonic & missing animations in cutscenes.
I also like old physics more (its hard to tell whats the problem - just play them side by side).

Strife is also mediocre.
I dpn't remember details (it was long time ago) - but just go and play it via chocolatedoom.

System Shock EE is broken right now. It is not unplayable though.
Just google movement problems.
Patch was promised but didn't came out.

Turok 1-3 is fine. Love it.

Powerslave is great.

Blade Runner... Oh my - the completely destroyed the game.
Don't even try to play this version - stick with original.

Blood was broken at release. But they fixed it & now it is fine.

Killing Time, RotD & The Thing - didn't tried.
Want the replay The Thing (I'm big fan of the original game & Carpenter movie) - but you know - sanctions. =((
